Description
Cyma CM072 M4 DMR AEG (Metal Body, Black)
The Cyma CM072 is an M4-based designated marksman rifle (DMR) AEG with a metal body, finished in black. A DMR sits between an assault rifle and a sniper rifle: it has the M4’s familiar handling and quick reloads, but is set up for longer, more deliberate shots, making it a good fit for players who like to hang back and pick their targets.
Cyma is one of the best-known makers of good-value AEGs, and its M4 range is built around the standard AR layout, so magazines, upgrade parts and accessories are easy to find. That makes the CM072 a practical base for a marksman build that can grow over time.
Build and materials
The metal body gives the CM072 a solid, rigid feel with very little flex or creak, and the extra weight helps the rifle sit steadily in the aim, which matters for a marksman gun. Check the product images to see the handguard, stock and rail layout on this model so you can plan your optic and accessories.
Setting it up as a DMR
A DMR is only as good as its sighting and its hop-up setting. Fit a quality optic, such as a low-power variable scope or a magnified red dot, and zero it with the BB weight you plan to use. Heavier BBs, around 0.25g to 0.30g, tend to hold their line better at range; set the hop-up so BBs fly flat without rising at the end of their flight.
Many sites apply different power limits and minimum engagement distances to DMRs, and some require semi-auto only. Check your site’s rules before you play, and lock the rifle to semi if required.
Handling and play
Use the rifle deliberately: pick a position with good cover and a clear view, and take aimed single shots rather than long bursts. The M4 layout keeps reloads quick and the controls easy to find, so you can move position and get back into the fight without fuss.

Compatibility
As an M4-pattern AEG, the CM072 takes M4/M16 AEG magazines; check that spares are listed for Cyma or Tokyo Marui-spec M4 AEGs before ordering. Check the battery space and connector before buying a battery. Rails take standard 20mm optics and mounts. For marksman use, 0.25g to 0.30g seamless BBs are a good starting point.
Care and maintenance
Take the battery out of the gun whenever you are not using it, and store LiPo batteries at storage charge in a fire-resistant bag. Never leave a battery charging unattended.
Use good quality, seamless 6mm BBs; cheap or damaged BBs are the most common cause of jams and can damage the hop-up rubber. Run a cleaning rod with a dry patch through the inner barrel every few games, and if a BB jams, clear it with the rod from the muzzle end with the battery removed.
After each game wipe the outside down to remove dirt and moisture, and let the gun dry at room temperature if it has been out in the rain. Turn the hop-up back off when storing it for long periods, and leave the gun on safe and on semi rather than full auto, so the spring is not left compressed.
Who is it for?
The CM072 suits players who want to try the marksman role with a familiar, easy-to-maintain M4 platform, and players looking for a solid metal-bodied base to build a DMR on.
Please note: Always wear suitable eye and face protection, and check your site’s power limits, minimum engagement distances and any semi-auto rules for DMRs before play.
