Description
Double Bell AM45 Detonics .45 Gas Blowback Pistol (Black, Metal, 797A)
The Double Bell 797A is a compact .45 gas blowback pistol based on the Detonics-style short 1911, the sort of chopped-down carry gun that suits a backup holster. Double Bell builds it with a solid metal shell and a short, punchy slide, giving a noticeable kick for such a small pistol.
Build and performance
Construction is metal throughout the main body, with a metal hammer, and the internals are built to cope with green gas. It is a single-action, semi-automatic gas blowback design with an adjustable hop-up. A useful point for existing 1911 owners is magazine compatibility: it is listed as taking Army Armament and Tokyo Marui 1911 gas magazines as well as its own.

- 18-round gas magazine supplied
- Works with Army Armament and Tokyo Marui 1911 gas magazines
Good to know
Run it on a good-quality green gas made for airsoft, never lighter fluid or butane, and keep the magazine lips and seals lightly lubricated with silicone oil. Gas pistols lose some efficiency in cold weather, so warm the magazine in your hand or a pocket on chilly days. Because it is a compact pistol, the magazine holds less gas than a full-size one, so expect fewer shots per fill. As this is a realistic-coloured replica, it is classed as a realistic imitation firearm (RIF) in the UK, so you will need a valid defence such as UKARA registration to buy it, and you must be 18 or over. Always wear eye protection and check your site’s power limits before playing.
