The Double Bell M16 SPR MOD2 DMR (053) is a full metal, CNC-machined electric rifle based on the US Special Purpose Rifle, the designated marksman member of the M16 family that is closely related to the Mk12. This version is finished in blue. It is aimed at players who want to take on a marksman role, holding back to observe and take carefully placed shots at longer range.

Build and materials
The rifle is built from steel, aluminium and durable polymer, with CNC-machined parts that give it a robust, quality feel. At approximately 964mm long and 3.1kg, it is a substantial rifle that sits steadily in the shoulder, which helps when holding on a distant target. The long SPR profile looks the part on any woodland or milsim site.
Performance and internals
Inside is a metal Version 2 gearbox with a quick-release spring system, so you can swap the main spring without removing the gearbox; useful for setting the rifle up for sites with different limits for marksman rifles. The long 470mm inner barrel, with a 6.02mm bore, and the adjustable hop-up help deliver consistent, accurate shots at range. The muzzle has a 14mm counter-clockwise thread for mock silencers and tracer units, and the battery connects with a mini Tamiya plug.
Setting up a DMR
To complete the classic SPR setup, pair the rifle with a magnified optic and a bipod. Heavier BBs, such as 0.28g or 0.30g, together with a carefully set hop-up, will make the most of the long barrel. Many sites have specific rules for DMRs, such as semi-auto only and minimum engagement distances, so check your site’s rules before play.

Compatibility
The SPR is designed around the AR-15 platform and accepts standard M4/M16 AEG magazines from most manufacturers; check fit with any new brand before relying on it in a game. The battery uses a mini Tamiya connector.
The 14mm CCW thread accepts most airsoft mock silencers and tracer units, and standard 20mm optic mounts and bipods suit the rifle. The Version 2 gearbox means replacement and upgrade parts are widely available.
Care and maintenance
Always remove the battery from the gun when it is not in use, and store and charge LiPo batteries in a fire-safe bag with a suitable smart charger. Unplugging the battery also protects the motor and wiring from accidental discharge.
Run a cleaning rod with a soft patch through the inner barrel every few games to clear dirt and residue, and adjust the hop-up to suit the weight of BB you are using. Use only clean, seamless, good quality 6mm BBs, as poor quality or dirty BBs are the most common cause of jams and damage to the hop-up rubber. Before storing the gun for a long period, fire a few shots on semi-auto with no magazine fitted to take the tension off the spring.
