Description
Double Bell M416 AEG (Tan – Short – BY-811S)
The Double Bell M416 BY-811S is an electric rifle (AEG) in the style of the 416, in the short configuration and finished in tan. It is the tan counterpart of Double Bell’s short BY-811, and our range also lists the long BY-812 and BY-812S versions, so you can choose the length and colour that suit you.
Double Bell (also known as D|Boys) produces a wide range of affordable rifles, and its 416-style AEGs combine a modern, popular look with practical features such as a stick battery in the stock tube and a rotary hop-up. The short version is handy for CQB and woodland alike. It suits newer players looking for good value and anyone who runs tan or earth-toned kit.
How it works
An AEG (automatic electric gun) uses a rechargeable battery to drive a motor, which turns the gears inside a gearbox to pull back and release a spring-loaded piston. Each cycle pushes a burst of air behind a BB. Because the power comes from the battery and spring rather than gas, performance stays consistent in cold weather, and running costs are low.
Performance and internals
Our listing of the black short BY-811 gives the following details for this model: a Version 2 gearbox with an alloy shell, 18:1 steel gears and 8mm bushings, a rotary adjustable hop-up and a 6.02mm tightbore inner barrel of 290mm. Fire modes are safe, semi and full auto. A 7.4V LiPo stick battery is recommended, fitted in the buffer tube with a Mini Tamiya connector.
Build and handling
The same listing gives a 10.5-inch alloy outer barrel with a 14mm CCW thread, an overall length of 710mm with the six-position stock collapsed and 790mm extended, and a weight of approximately 2.85kg. The railed handguard takes standard 20mm optics, lights and grips, and the short barrel keeps the rifle quick and easy to handle in tight spaces. Please check the product photos for the exact tan finish and fittings.

Compatibility
The rifle takes most M4/AR-15 AEG magazines. The battery sits in the buffer tube under the stock and uses a Mini Tamiya connector; a 7.4V LiPo stick battery is recommended. The 14mm counter-clockwise thread accepts most airsoft suppressors and tracer units once the flash hider is removed, and the 20mm rails take standard optics, lights and grips.
Care and maintenance
Disconnect and remove the battery after every game, and never store the rifle with the battery plugged in. Charge batteries with a suitable charger, never leave them charging unattended, and store them at a sensible storage charge somewhere cool and dry.
Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs, as poor or damaged BBs are the main cause of jams and hop-up wear. Clean the inner barrel regularly with a cleaning rod and a soft cloth, wipe the outside down after wet or muddy games, and keep the rifle somewhere dry between games.
Who is it for?
Newer players who want good value and modern looks, CQB and woodland players who like a short rifle, and anyone running tan kit.
Please note: A battery, charger and BBs are not listed as included. Specifications are taken from our listing of the black BY-811. Always wear suitable eye and face protection when using airsoft replicas, and check your site’s rules and power limits before play.
