Dye Lens SLS Thermal HD

This is a replacement Dye SLS Thermal HD lens for the Dye SE goggle. Our original listing describes it as a double-paned lens with a thermoformed inner lens for fog-free and distortion-free vision, and an SLS Triodial lens shape that gives excellent vertical and horizontal peripheral vision.

Dye is one of the best-known names in paintball and airsoft goggles, and the SE is its streamlined goggle design. A spare or upgraded lens keeps your goggle in service and lets you replace a scratched or damaged lens without buying a whole new goggle.

Why a thermal lens

A thermal lens has two layers with an insulating gap between them, which works like double glazing. The inner layer stays closer to your face temperature, so moisture is far less likely to condense on it. Fogging is one of the biggest frustrations in airsoft, especially in cold weather or when you are working hard, and a good thermal lens makes a real difference.

The SLS Triodial shape curves across both axes, which helps open up the view above, below and to the sides. A retailer listing credits it with 260 degrees of peripheral vision and lists it as compatible with all versions of the Dye SE goggle.

Fitting

Follow Dye’s instructions for removing the old lens from the SE frame, taking care not to stretch or damage the frame or seal. Seat the new lens fully in its channel all the way round, and check there are no gaps before wearing the goggle.

Compatibility

Care and maintenance

Clean the lens with water and a soft microfibre cloth only; do not use paper towels, solvents or glass cleaners, and never wipe the inside of a thermal lens when it is wet, as this can damage the anti-fog surface. Let it air dry. Store the goggle in a soft bag or case, and replace the lens if it is cracked, deeply scratched or has taken a hard hit.
