This EMG x Noveske M4 is a full metal gas blowback airsoft rifle made by S&T (code STGBB10CBKM), carrying Noveske styling under licence through EMG and finished in black. It is a compact short-barrelled carbine with a 7-inch Keymod handguard, built for fast handling in buildings and close woodland.
Noveske is a respected American rifle maker, and EMG’s licensing programme brings real-steel trademarks and styling to airsoft replicas. S&T produces a wide range of gas and electric replicas, and this rifle combines the licensed look with the recoil and working controls that make gas rifles so satisfying to shoot.
How gas blowback works
On every shot, gas from the magazine fires the BB and pushes the bolt carrier back, cocking the hammer and giving a crisp, felt recoil. When the magazine runs empty the bolt can lock back, ready for a realistic reload drill. It is a more involved and engaging way to play than with an AEG, and it rewards good magazine management.
Build and handling
The full metal construction gives the rifle a solid, authentic weight and feel. The short 7-inch Keymod handguard keeps the overall length down, so it is quick to swing through doorways and around corners, and the Keymod slots let you attach rail sections, grips and lights exactly where you want them. Add a compact red dot and a weapon light and you have a very capable CQB setup.
Gas and the weather
Gas rifles perform best in mild and warm weather. As temperatures drop, gas pressure falls and the cycle can slow, so keep spare magazines warm on cold days. Follow the manual’s guidance on which gas to use.
Getting started
Before the first game, read the manual and lightly lubricate the bolt and magazine seals as it recommends. Fill a magazine with the correct gas, holding the can upside down and filling in short bursts, then load BBs and test fire into a safe backstop. Set the hop-up so your BBs fly flat, and practise reloads and bolt-release drills until they are smooth. Carry spare magazines in pouches close to your body so they stay warm, and have the rifle chronographed at your site with the gas you will play with.

Compatibility
GBB rifles use gas magazines specific to their system, which are not interchangeable with AEG magazines; check the images and confirm spare magazines are made for this S&T rifle. The Keymod handguard accepts Keymod rail sections and accessories. Check the manual for the recommended gas.
Care and maintenance
Lubricate the bolt, nozzle and magazine seals with silicone oil as the manual recommends, and store magazines with a little gas in them to keep seals seated. Never overfill magazines. Clean the inner barrel regularly with a cleaning rod and soft cloth, and use good quality seamless BBs. Wipe down metal parts after wet games.
