Description
Galaxy AEG Submachine Gun (Metal Gearbox – Black – G5K)
The Galaxy G5K is a compact electric submachine gun in the style of the MP5K, with a metal gearbox and a black finish. Short, light and quick to handle, it is a natural choice for CQB sites, house clearing and players who want a small primary or a punchy secondary weapon.
Galaxy builds affordable replicas with a focus on practical, dependable internals. The MP5K layout is one of the most recognisable SMG designs in the world, and its short length and front grip make it extremely handy in tight spaces.
Build and internals
A European retailer lists the G5K with a version 3 metal gearbox fitted with a reinforced cylinder head, vacuum piston head and steel gears, and an adjustable hop-up. Fire modes are safe, semi and full-auto. The same listing gives an overall length of around 325mm and a weight of about 1.5kg, which makes it one of the most compact AEGs around.
The metal gearbox gives a solid base for reliable use and future upgrades by a competent technician.
Handling
With no stock and a short barrel, the G5K is built for speed. The front vertical grip, typical of the MP5K design, gives the support hand a firm hold and helps control the gun on full-auto. Fit a single-point sling and it can be carried comfortably on the chest and brought up in an instant.
The same retailer lists a 240-round hi-cap magazine and a mini Tamiya connector. Because space is tight in such a small gun, check the battery size before buying a spare.
Getting started
Charge your battery on a proper charger and fit it following the manual. Load a magazine and test-fire at a safe backstop, starting with the hop-up off and bringing it up gradually until shots fly flat. A few minutes of zeroing at the range makes a big difference to your confidence on the field.
Practise magazine changes and battery swaps at home, and get the rifle chronographed at the site before your first game.

Compatibility
Uses MP5-style AEG magazines; Galaxy magazines are the safest choice, and fit can vary between brands. The battery connector is listed as mini Tamiya, and space is limited, so choose a compact battery and check its dimensions. Use 6mm BBs; 0.20g BBs suit most short-barrelled SMGs.
Care and maintenance
Take the battery out after every game and store it away from the rifle, and charge LiPo batteries only on a proper balance charger under supervision. Clean the inner barrel with a cleaning rod and a dry cloth patch every few games, as dirt and broken BB fragments are the main causes of flyers. Stick to good quality seamless BBs of a consistent weight.
Check screws, the flash hider and any mounts before each game day, and store the rifle somewhere dry. Leave the hop-up at a light setting in storage, and if the rifle has an electronic trigger unit, a fully charged battery helps it read the trigger cleanly.
Who is it for?
CQB players who want a tiny, fast-handling SMG, and players looking for a light secondary weapon that still offers full-auto firepower.
Please note: A battery and charger are not listed as included, so please check the listing to see what is supplied. Always wear suitable eye and face protection.
