Description
Galaxy M82 Bolt Action Sniper Rifle (Black – G31C)
The Galaxy M82, model G31C, is a spring powered bolt-action airsoft rifle in black. It takes its looks from the M82A1 heavy rifle, with a large receiver and long barrel that make it one of the most distinctive long guns you can bring to a game. This listing is the rifle on its own, without a scope, so you are free to fit the optic of your choice.
If you already own a scope you like, or want to invest in a better optic than a bundled one, this version lets you do exactly that. A version with a scope included is also available.
Construction and size
The G31 uses a polymer body, stock and magazine, with a metal cylinder and trigger. It measures about 1.4 metres overall and weighs around 3kg. For transport, it splits into two sections, barrel and receiver, which makes a big difference when packing for a game day.
Spring bolt-action
Cycle the bolt to cock the spring and load a BB from the 30-round magazine. The fully mechanical action needs no batteries or gas and gives the same results in winter as in summer, which is a strong advantage for UK players.
Fitting an optic
The long 20mm Weaver-style top rail gives you plenty of room for an optic. A scope with modest magnification and a clear image usually works best at airsoft distances, and a red dot is also an option for quicker target acquisition. Mount the optic firmly, set your hop-up, then zero it at your typical shooting range.
Handling and use
The M82’s length and weight favour supported shooting from the prone position, over cover or on a bipod. It is a satisfying rifle for deliberate, methodical play and for target practice at home.
Why buy without a scope?
Bundled scopes are convenient, but many players prefer to choose their own optic so they can pick the magnification, reticle and clarity that suit them. Buying the rifle on its own leaves your budget free for a scope you will keep and move between rifles. If you already own an optic and rings, this version is the obvious choice.
Setting up
Once your optic is mounted, begin with the hop-up switched off and fire a few shots at a target around your usual engagement range. Increase the hop gradually until BBs fly straight and flat, then adjust the optic so its aiming point matches where the BBs land. Keep a note of the settings for each BB weight you use.
