Gate ASTER V2 SE Basic Module [Front Wired]
The Gate ASTER V2 SE Basic Module is a drop-in programmable trigger and MOSFET unit for Version 2 AEG gearboxes, in the front-wired configuration. It replaces the mechanical trigger contacts with sensors, giving a sharper trigger response and better protection for your motor, battery and wiring.
Gate is a Polish electronics specialist whose ASTER units are among the most widely used AEG upgrades. The Basic version gives the core ASTER functions, with binary trigger as its headline feature, and the firmware can later be upgraded to Advanced or Expert to unlock more functions.
How it works
The SE unit uses a proximity trigger sensor with up to 250 sensitivity settings, and an optical gear cam sensor that works with standard, 19-tooth, DSG, SSG and Infinite Torque-up gears. A built-in RGB LED helps during programming, and the unit protects against reverse battery polarity.
Fitting and programming
It fits most standard M4 AEGs with a Version 2 gearbox without modifying the gearbox shell, and there is no need to remove the safety lever. For KRYTAC and ICS gearboxes the bolt catch lever must be removed. Settings are made through the trigger itself, or with a USB-Link or Blu-Link and the Gate Control Station (GCS) app, which also updates the firmware. If you are not confident working on a gearbox, have it fitted by a technician.

Compatibility
Most standard M4 AEGs with a Version 2 gearbox and front wiring. Choose the rear-wired version if your battery sits in the stock. KRYTAC and ICS gearboxes need the bolt catch lever removed. USB-Link or Blu-Link is needed for app programming and is sold separately.
Care and maintenance
Keep firmware up to date through GCS, use a battery suited to your setup, and keep the gearbox clean and correctly shimmed so the unit is not working against mechanical problems.
