The GATE PicoSSR 3 is a very small, simple MOSFET for electric airsoft guns (AEGs). What it does
A MOSFET is an electronic switch. In a standard AEG, the full battery current passes through the trigger contacts every time you fire, and over time the contacts burn and pit, especially with higher-voltage LiPo batteries. With a MOSFET fitted, the trigger contacts only carry a tiny signal current, while the MOSFET switches the main current from the battery to the motor.
According to retailer descriptions, routing the current this way reduces power loss in the electrical system, prevents contact burning, and can give a slightly higher rate of fire and a quicker trigger response.
Size and fitting

Keep wiring tidy and away from moving parts, check that solder joints and heat shrink are sound whenever the gearbox is opened, and keep connectors clean. Disconnect the battery whenever the gun is not in use, and use a battery suited to your set-up rather than relying on electronics to make up for a badly matched spring, motor and battery.
