Description

G&G ARP9 AEG with 5″ M-LOK Rail (Battleship Grey – EGC-ARP-9MM-ANB-NCM)

The G&G ARP9 is one of the best-known compact AEGs in airsoft, and this version is finished in Battleship Grey (code EGC-ARP-9MM-ANB-NCM). It is a 9mm-style AR carbine with a short 5-inch M-LOK handguard, pairing a very small overall size with the modern electronics G&G has become known for.

G&G Armament is a Taiwanese manufacturer with a long record of reliable, well-finished replicas, and the ARP9 has become a favourite with CQB players and anyone who wants a light, handy rifle that is easy to carry all day. The grey finish gives it a clean, slightly different look from the usual black, while keeping exactly the same mechanics as the rest of the ARP9 family.

Electronics and internals

Our other ARP9 listings give an electronic trigger unit (ETU) with a programmable MOSFET, including a burst option, together with a rotary adjustable hop-up. The ETU replaces mechanical trigger contacts with electronic switching, giving a crisp, responsive trigger and protecting the electrics from contact wear over time.

The same listings give the ARP9 as designed for 11.1V LiPo batteries with a mini Tamiya connector, wired to the rear and housed in the stock area. Battery space is limited, so choose a compact pack and check its dimensions before buying; we also list the Airtech Studios BEU battery extension unit, made for the ARP9 and ARP556, if you want more room.

Size and handling

Retailer listings give the ARP9 at about 497mm long and around 2kg, with an inner barrel of about 128mm and a GOS-V5 sliding stock. That makes it very easy to move through doorways, vehicles and tight woodland, and light enough that it never becomes a burden over a long game day.

The 5-inch M-LOK handguard takes a hand stop or compact torch, while the full-length top rail accepts a red dot or small magnified optic. Folding front and rear sights are listed on our other ARP9 versions, and the 14mm counter-clockwise threaded outer barrel accepts common airsoft muzzle devices such as mock suppressors and tracer units.

Battleship Grey finish

Battleship Grey is one of the colour options G&G offers for the ARP9. It suits urban and grey-toned loadouts well and stands out a little from a field of black rifles, without being as bold as the brighter special editions. Please see the product photos for the exact shade and which parts are finished in grey.

Compatibility

Use G&G ARP9 magazines for spares; we list G&G ARP9 low-cap and hi-cap magazines as well as a drum. Standard M4 rifle magazines do not fit the ARP9.

Choose a compact 11.1V LiPo that fits the battery space, or consider the Airtech Studios BEU battery extension unit, which we list for the ARP9 and ARP556. M-LOK accessories fit the handguard and standard 20mm accessories fit the top rail. Seamless BBs of 0.20g to 0.25g are a good starting point.

Care and maintenance

Take the battery out after every game and store it separately at a sensible storage charge, rather than leaving it connected inside the replica. Charge LiPo batteries with a proper balance charger, keep them in a LiPo-safe bag and never leave them charging unattended; NiMH packs should be charged with a smart charger that stops when the pack is full.

Run a cleaning rod with a lightly dampened patch through the inner barrel from time to time to clear dirt and residue, which keeps the hop-up consistent. Use good-quality seamless BBs, never reuse BBs that have been on the ground, and wipe the outside over after damp or muddy games. Leave gearbox work, shimming and spring changes to a competent technician.

An electronic trigger reads the trigger most reliably with a well-charged battery, so recharge before the battery runs very low.

Who is it for?

The ARP9 in Battleship Grey is for CQB players who want a tiny, light and electronically triggered carbine, for newer players looking for a compact rifle from a respected maker, and for anyone building a grey or urban-themed loadout.

Please note: A battery, charger and BBs are not listed as included. Always wear suitable eye protection, and full-face protection where your site requires it, when using or testing any airsoft replica.
