Description
G&G GC16 Wild Hog 12″ with ETU and MOSFET (Polymer)
The G&G GC16 Wild Hog 12″ is an M4-style electric airsoft rifle (AEG) with a polymer body, a 12-inch KeyMod handguard and G&G’s electronics package of a MOSFET and electronic trigger unit (ETU), as named. It gives you a modern, free-float style carbine with smart electronics at an accessible price.
G&G Armament is a respected Taiwanese manufacturer, and its Combat Machine range is designed to deliver reliable performance and modern features to players who do not want to pay for a full metal rifle. The Wild Hog is a popular choice for new players who want a rifle that will last, and for experienced players who want a light, dependable back-up.
Build and handling
US retailer Airsoft GI lists the GC16 Wild Hog 12″ at 762mm to 864mm long depending on stock position, and about 2681g empty. It describes a full metal 12-inch KeyMod rail system, a six-position crane stock that houses the battery, and a rubber stock pad. The polymer receiver keeps the weight down, which you will appreciate over a long day of play.
The long KeyMod handguard gives plenty of space for your support hand and for KeyMod-mounted accessories such as a grip, torch or rail sections, while the top rail accepts standard 20mm optics.
Internals and electronics
Airsoft GI lists a Version 2 gearbox with 8mm bearing bushings, a long-type motor and a 300-round high-capacity magazine. The pre-installed MOSFET and ETU, as named, protect the trigger contacts and improve trigger response; the retailer describes the electronics as programmable between full-auto and three-round burst, so you can tailor the rifle to your site’s rules or your own style.
A MOSFET also makes the rifle a sensible match for LiPo batteries. The battery connector is listed as small Tamiya.
Customisation
As an M4-pattern Version 2 AEG, the Wild Hog has huge aftermarket support. Upgrades are best done by a technician who knows G&G rifles, as rifles with an ETU have their own wiring and trigger arrangement.

Compatibility
The Wild Hog takes M4/M16-pattern AEG magazines; G&G magazines are the safest choice, and other brands should be tested before game day. The battery fits in the crane stock and uses a small Tamiya connector (as listed), so choose a stock-type battery that fits that space. We also list a G&G GC16 Wild Hog 7″ version.
Use KeyMod accessories or KeyMod rail sections on the handguard and 20mm optics on the top rail. Check with us before buying internal parts.
Care and maintenance
Take the battery out after every game and store it separately at a sensible storage charge, rather than leaving it connected inside the replica. Charge LiPo batteries with a proper balance charger, keep them in a LiPo-safe bag and never leave them charging unattended; NiMH packs should be charged with a smart charger that stops when the pack is full.
Run a cleaning rod with a lightly dampened patch through the inner barrel from time to time to clear dirt and residue, which keeps the hop-up consistent. Use good-quality seamless BBs, never reuse BBs that have been on the ground, and wipe the outside over after damp or muddy games. Leave gearbox work, shimming and spring changes to a competent technician.
Who is it for?
The Wild Hog 12″ suits new players wanting a light, reliable rifle with modern electronics, and experienced players looking for a dependable, long-handguard carbine or back-up.
Please note: A battery, charger and optic are not listed as included. Always wear suitable eye protection, and full-face protection where your site requires it, when using or testing any airsoft replica.
