Description

G&G GT-Advanced RK74-CQB AEG with Inbuilt MOSFET and ETU (GRK-74C-ETU-BNB-NCM)

The G&G RK74-CQB is a compact, AK74-style electric airsoft rifle from G&G’s GT-Advanced line, fitted with an inbuilt MOSFET and ETU (electronic trigger unit). It combines the rugged AK outline with modern furniture and electronics, in a short package designed for close-quarters play.

G&G Armament is one of Taiwan’s best-known airsoft manufacturers, and its RK74 range is a popular choice for players who want an AK-pattern rifle with modern features. The CQB version is the shortest of the family, making it ideal for buildings, urban sites and tight woodland.

Build and design

A UK retailer listing for the RK74-CQB describes a metal receiver and body, CNC anodised aluminium guards and rail system, and a retractable M4-style stock. It gives an overall length of about 780mm and a weight of about 2750g, so the rifle is short and manageable while still feeling solid.

The M4-style stock lets you adjust the length of pull to suit your build and kit, and the aluminium rail system gives you space for a red dot, torch or grip. The listing also mentions an ambidextrous charging handle.

Electronics and internals

The listing describes an all-metal Version 3 gearbox with steel bearings, an integrated MOSFET and an electronic trigger unit. The MOSFET takes the electrical load away from the trigger contacts and the ETU gives a crisp, consistent trigger response, so the rifle stays sharp over thousands of shots and is well suited to LiPo batteries.

A 220mm, 6.03mm tight-bore inner barrel and adjustable hop-up are listed. A short barrel suits the CQB role, where quick handling matters more than outright range; set the hop for the BB weight you use so shots fly flat at your usual distances.

Magazine

The listing gives a 115-round mid-capacity magazine, with additional RK74 magazines sold separately. Mid-caps feed quietly without rattling and suit players who like a realistic ammunition load; carry several in your chest rig.

Compatibility

Use magazines made for the G&G RK74 series; AK-pattern AEG magazines from other makers may fit but should be checked before buying in quantity. Rails take standard 20mm accessories. Check the battery space and connector in the manual before buying a battery, and confirm the voltage G&G recommends for the ETU.

Version 3 gearbox parts are the upgrade standard for AK-pattern AEGs, but confirm specific parts with a technician before ordering.

Care and maintenance

Take the battery out after every game and store it separately at a sensible storage charge, rather than leaving it connected inside the replica. Charge LiPo batteries with a proper balance charger, keep them in a LiPo-safe bag and never leave them charging unattended; NiMH packs should be charged with a smart charger that stops when the pack is full.

Run a cleaning rod with a lightly dampened patch through the inner barrel from time to time to clear dirt and residue, which keeps the hop-up consistent. Use good-quality seamless BBs, never reuse BBs that have been on the ground, and wipe the outside over after damp or muddy games. Leave gearbox work, shimming and spring changes to a competent technician.

Who is it for?

The RK74-CQB suits CQB and urban players who want a short, modern AK with reliable electronics, and AK fans looking for a compact rifle they can carry all day.

Please note: Battery, charger and BBs are not listed as included. Always wear suitable eye protection, and full-face protection where your site requires it, when using or testing any airsoft replica.
