G&G Tappet Plate for L85
This is a replacement tappet plate for the G&G L85 AEG. The L85 is the British Army’s service rifle in its distinctive bullpup layout, and G&G is among the manufacturers that have produced an airsoft version. Bullpup AEGs place the gearbox behind the trigger, in the stock, and their gearbox parts are not always interchangeable with standard rifle gearboxes.
The tappet plate moves the air nozzle back and forth on every shot, letting a BB into the hop-up chamber and then sealing behind it. When it cracks or wears, the gun can misfeed, double feed or lose power, so a replacement made for the L85 is the simplest way to restore reliable feeding.
What the tappet plate does
Each time the sector gear turns, a cam on the gear pulls the tappet plate back, drawing the air nozzle back so a BB can feed. A spring then returns the plate forward, pushing the BB into the hop-up rubber and sealing the nozzle before the piston fires. A worn or broken tappet plate disrupts this timing.
Fitting
Fitting gearbox parts means removing and opening the gearbox, so remove the battery and magazine first and take photos at every stage. Release spring tension carefully when opening the shell, keep small parts such as the anti-reversal latch and trigger springs under control, and check shimming as you rebuild. If you have not worked on a gearbox before, it is worth having a technician fit the part.

Care and maintenance
