Description
Golden Eagle M870 Tri-Shot Gas Pump Action Shotgun (Long – Black – M8872 – V2)
The Golden Eagle M8872 (V2) is a gas-powered pump-action shotgun from Golden Eagle’s M870 tri-shot range, here in black and in the long configuration. The longer barrel gives it the classic proportions of a full-size pump shotgun and a steadier hold when you are aiming across a room or down a woodland lane.
Golden Eagle’s M870 range is one of the most popular airsoft shotgun lines in the UK, valued for its simple, dependable gas system and its satisfying pump action. Every rack of the pump sends a spread of BBs downrange, making it a hard-hitting and fun alternative primary for CQB and skirmish days.
How the tri-shot system works
Golden Eagle’s tri-shot system uses three inner barrels side by side. Every time you work the pump and pull the trigger, the shotgun fires three BBs at once, giving a tight spread that makes close-range hits much easier than with a single-shot replica. An internal selector lets you switch to six BBs per shot for an even heavier spread.
BBs are loaded into shotgun-style shells, each holding about 30 BBs, which are loaded into the shotgun one at a time. The hop-up is fixed at the factory, so there is nothing to adjust: load good quality 0.20g BBs, fill with gas and you are ready to go.
Handling
The long version gives a longer sight line and more weight out front, which helps keep the shotgun steady as you work the pump between shots. It looks every inch the traditional pump-action shotgun, and the black finish suits any loadout.
Despite its length, the M870 remains easy to use: there is no battery to manage, the controls are simple, and the action is quick to learn. Many players carry a long shotgun as a primary at CQB sites, while others enjoy it as a characterful change from their usual rifle.
Getting started
Fill the shotgun with green gas or 134a, holding the can upright and filling in short bursts until gas just starts to spit back. Load a shell with BBs using a speedloader, insert it, and work the pump fully before firing a few test shots at a safe backstop.
Have the shotgun chronographed at your site before play, and practise loading shells at home so reloads are quick and smooth on game day.

Compatibility
The shotgun runs on green gas or 134a. It uses Golden Eagle M870-series shells, and spare shells are a sensible early purchase so you can reload quickly between engagements; a shell speedloader makes filling them much quicker. Standard 0.20g BBs suit the fixed hop-up. Accessories for rails and stocks should be checked against this exact model before buying.
Care and maintenance
Store the shotgun with a little gas in the reservoir so the seals stay tight, and put a drop of silicone oil on the fill valve every few fills. Fill in short bursts and stop when gas starts to spit back, and in cold weather keep the shotgun somewhere warm between games for the most consistent performance.
Use only clean, seamless BBs, as a damaged BB in one barrel can upset all three. Wipe the pump action and outer surfaces with a light coat of silicone oil occasionally, and never use petroleum-based lubricants on the seals.
Who is it for?
Ideal for players who want a classic full-length pump shotgun for CQB, woodland edges and building clearances, and for anyone who enjoys the theatre of a pump action with a hard-hitting spread.
Please note: Gas, BBs and spare shells are not listed as included. Always wear suitable eye and face protection, and check your site’s rules on shotguns before play.
