Description
Hakkotsu Detonator with Spoon Grenade Thunder B (TBH1)
This Hakkotsu set pairs the spoon-type detonator with a Thunder B grenade shell, coded TBH1. It is the classic pin-and-spoon version of the Thunder B, operated like a traditional hand grenade: pull the pin, hold the spoon, throw.
Thunder B is one of the most popular sound grenade systems in airsoft and paintball. A loud bang in a room gives a clear room-clearing signal under most site rules, and grenades are a strong tool for objective games and building assaults. The spoon design is familiar and easy to learn, which makes this set a good starting point. It is the spoon partner to the TBH2 un-spoon set.
How the Thunder B system works
Thunder B is Hakkotsu’s CO2-powered sound grenade. According to retailer listings, the firing mechanism screws onto the top of a shell and holds a 12g CO2 capsule, a firing pin and a spoon that is kept in place by a pin. When the pin is pulled and the grenade is thrown, the spoon releases the firing pin, which pierces the capsule. Gas then builds up inside the shell until it bursts with a very loud bang.
Because it runs on CO2 rather than a pyrotechnic filling, the bang comes from gas pressure alone. Retailers describe the delay as variable, usually a few seconds, so do not rely on an exact fuse time. The CO2 capsule is used up with each throw, and the shell breaks apart, while the metal firing parts are made to be used again.
Using it in a game
Throw underarm into a room or position rather than at players, and give a clear call where your site requires one. Grenades work best as part of a team plan: agree who throws and who moves in, and go straight after the bang while the defenders are still reacting.
Safety
Retailers rate Thunder B at over 130 dB, so hearing protection is strongly recommended for you and anyone nearby, especially indoors. Throw underarm into rooms and positions rather than at players, and follow your site’s rules on grenades. If a grenade fails to go off, wait before approaching it and follow the manual and your marshal’s instructions.

Compatibility
Part of the Thunder B system, so it works with Thunder B shells and spares such as replacement safety pins and the TB-L safety lever. You will need a fresh 12g CO2 capsule and a new shell for each throw.
Care and maintenance
Wipe the parts down after use and keep them in a small, dry bag or box with the rest of your Thunder B kit so nothing goes missing. Check for bends, burrs or wear before each game day and replace anything that no longer moves freely.
Never fit or adjust parts on a grenade that has a CO2 capsule installed. Keep capsules cool and out of direct sunlight, and pick up all shell pieces after each use.
Who is it for?
This set suits players who want a loud, reliable sound grenade with a traditional pin-and-spoon action, and anyone starting out with the Thunder B system.
Please note: CO2 capsules are not included. Always wear eye protection, use hearing protection, and follow your site’s rules on grenades.
