Description

HFC – HFC-HG186-60-61 – Mag lips + Gas router

This HFC part set combines the magazine feed lips and the gas router, parts 60 and 61 in HFC’s numbering for the HG186. Replacing the two together is the usual way to cure feeding and gas-leak problems at the top of a magazine in one job.

The feed lips sit at the very top of a gas pistol magazine. They hold the next BB in place under spring pressure until the slide or loading nozzle pushes it forward into the hop-up. Because they take a knock every time a magazine is dropped or slammed home, they are one of the most common wear parts on any gas pistol.

Feed lips and gas router

The gas router guides gas from the magazine’s outlet valve up into the pistol’s loading nozzle. A cracked or worn router lets gas escape at the top of the magazine, which leads to weak shots, sluggish blowback and wasted gas, so replacing it at the same time as the feed lips is a sensible repair.

Typical signs of worn or broken feed lips are BBs falling out of the top of a loaded magazine, two BBs being pushed into the hop-up at once, the pistol cycling without firing a BB, or BBs rolling out of the barrel. Visible cracks or splayed lips confirm the problem.

Fitting

Empty the magazine of all gas and BBs before you start. The feed lips are usually held at the top of the magazine by a small pin or screw, and there may be small springs or a gas router underneath, so work over a tray and keep track of every part as it comes out.

Fit the new part in the same orientation as the old one, then check that the follower moves freely and that BBs sit correctly in the lips before you gas the magazine. Test the magazine with a small fill first and look and listen for leaks.

Key features

  • HFC magazine feed lips and gas router
  • Parts 60 and 61 for the HG186
  • Cures feeding problems
  • Stops gas loss at the top of the magazine
  • Replace both parts in one job
  • Original HFC parts

Compatibility

Listed for the HFC HG186. HFC uses different magazine parts across its pistols, so check your pistol’s model code and compare the parts with the product photos before ordering.

Care and maintenance

Avoid dropping loaded magazines onto hard surfaces, as the top of the magazine takes the impact. Use clean, seamless BBs, and put a drop of silicone oil on the fill valve and seals every few games.

Store gas magazines with a small amount of gas in them so the seals stay tight, and never use petroleum-based oils, which can swell and damage rubber seals.

Who is it for?

Ideal for HG186 owners whose magazines leak gas at the top or misfeed, and for techs who service HFC pistols.

Please note: Supplied as the part only; the magazine, pistol, gas and BBs are not included. Wear eye protection when testing gas magazines.
