Description
H&K MP5K Full Metal AEG Standard (Umarex/Cyma, Black, CM041K)
This is the H&K MP5K, the short Kurz version of the MP5, as a licensed electric airsoft SMG from Umarex and Cyma in Cyma’s Standard range, listed as full metal and finished in black. The MP5K was designed to be as compact as possible, with a short barrel and a front vertical grip, and it is one of the smallest replicas you can take onto a site.
The real Heckler & Koch MP5 was developed in the 1960s and went on to become one of the most widely used submachine guns in the world, carried by police tactical teams and special forces units for decades. Its compact size, smooth handling and instantly recognisable shape have made it a favourite in airsoft too.
In airsoft the MP5K is a natural choice for CQB, indoor sites and as a secondary replica. It is easy to carry, quick to bring into action and great fun to use.
The MP5K design
The MP5K’s short length and front grip make it extremely manoeuvrable. A retailer listing for the Cyma Standard CM041K describes a 110mm inner barrel and a 70-round low-capacity magazine. Please check the product images for the exact rear end and sling attachment of this version.
A compact replica like this is ideal in doorways, stairwells and vehicles, where a longer rifle would get in the way.
Handling
Use the front grip to keep the muzzle steady and under control, and consider a sling so the MP5K stays with you when you need both hands. Practise quick reloads with the shorter magazines, and keep a spare or two in a pouch.
How it works
An AEG (airsoft electric gun) uses a rechargeable battery to power a motor, which turns a set of gears inside the gearbox. The gears draw back a piston against a spring and then release it, and the rush of air pushes the BB through the hop-up and down the inner barrel. AEGs are the most popular type of replica because they are consistent in all weathers and cheap to run, with no gas to buy.
Getting started
Before your first game, charge a suitable battery fully, fit it as the manual describes and connect it carefully. Load a magazine and start with the hop-up turned off, then fire a few shots at a safe backstop and add hop a little at a time until the BBs fly flat without rising at the end of their flight.

Compatibility
MP5-pattern AEG magazines fit this replica; Cyma MP5 magazines are the safest choice, and most mainstream MP5 AEG magazines work, though it is worth trying a new magazine before relying on it in a game. We also stock Cyma MP5 mid-cap magazines and MP5 speedloader adaptors. Shorter MP5K-length magazines keep the replica compact.
The battery’s size, type and connector are not given in our listing, and MP5 variants differ in where the battery fits, so please check the manual or contact us before buying a battery. Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs.
Care and maintenance
Take the battery out after every game and store it away from the replica, and charge LiPo batteries only on a proper balance charger that you are supervising. Clean the inner barrel with a cleaning rod and a dry patch every few games, as dirt and broken BB fragments are the main causes of flyers.
Use good quality seamless BBs of a consistent weight, check external screws and accessories before each game day, and store the replica somewhere dry. Leave internal gearbox and electronics work to someone experienced with AEGs.
Who is it for?
The MP5K is for players who want a tiny, licensed SMG for CQB and indoor play, or a compact secondary replica to back up a sniper rifle or DMR.
Please note: The listing does not say whether a battery, charger or spare magazines are included, so please ask if you need them. Always wear suitable eye protection when using any airsoft replica, and have it chronographed at your site before play.
