Description
Huntsman H17 Polymer GBB Pistol Green V2
This is the green version of the Huntsman H17 Polymer V2, a gas blowback pistol built on the G17 pattern. The G17 layout is one of the most popular choices for a sidearm because it is simple to operate and comfortable in the hand, and this model pairs that layout with a green finish.
Finished in green, it has a fresh look that sits well alongside olive and woodland-coloured kit. Please check the product images to see exactly which parts are coloured. The V2 in the name marks this as a second version of the H17 Polymer. The listing does not set out what changed between versions, so ask us if you would like to compare the two before ordering.
Design and handling
The H17 follows the G17 layout: a straightforward, ergonomic grip, simple controls and a slide shape that most players will recognise straight away. That familiarity is a real advantage in a game, as the pistol points naturally and there is very little to think about when you draw it in a hurry.
Listed as a polymer pistol, it is a lighter option than an all-metal sidearm, which many players appreciate on long game days. It also makes the H17 Polymer a good fit for younger or newer players building their first loadout.
How a gas blowback pistol works
In a gas blowback pistol the magazine holds both the BBs and the gas. When you pull the trigger, the hammer strikes a valve in the magazine and releases a burst of gas: part of it sends the BB through the hop-up and down the barrel, and the rest drives the slide back, cocking the hammer and loading the next BB as the slide returns. The result is a pistol that cycles and recoils much like the real thing.
Gas pressure falls as the temperature drops, so gas pistols are at their best in mild to warm conditions. On cold days, keep the magazine in an inside pocket between uses, and fire at a steady pace rather than in long strings so the magazine has time to recover.
About Huntsman
Huntsman Tactical is an airsoft brand whose range includes the H17, H18c and H34 gas blowback pistols as well as parts and accessories to support them.
Its pistols cover a range of styles and colours, and the brand also supplies spare magazines, nozzles and sights, so support for your pistol is easy to find.
Getting started
Before the first game, read the manual so you know the controls, the safety arrangement and how to fill and load the magazine. Fill the magazine with the gas the manual recommends in short bursts, holding the can upright, and give it a moment to settle. Load BBs, then fire a few shots at a safe backstop to get a feel for the trigger and the way the slide cycles.
Practise drawing, reloading and clearing the pistol at home with the magazine empty and no BBs loaded, so the routine becomes second nature before you rely on it in a game.

Huntsman lists its H17 HG3 DE series gas magazines in 6mm, in a plastic version and an HP version, and we stock both. Please ask us to confirm which magazine suits this pistol before buying spares, and test any new magazine before relying on it in a game.
Care and maintenance
Gas blowback pistols reward a little regular attention. Put a drop of silicone oil on the magazine’s fill valve and seals every few fills so they stay supple and gas-tight, and wipe the slide rails with a lightly oiled cloth from time to time. Clean the inner barrel with a cleaning rod and a soft patch if accuracy starts to drop.
Fill magazines in short bursts and stop when gas starts to spit back from the valve rather than holding the can on longer. Store magazines with a small amount of gas in them so the seals stay seated, and keep the pistol somewhere cool and dry between games.
Use only silicone-based lubricants on rubber seals and O-rings. Petroleum-based oils and solvents can make rubber swell and break down, which causes leaks.
Who is it for?
The H17 Polymer V2 is for players who want an affordable, easy-to-use G17-style gas pistol with a green finish. It suits first-time pistol buyers, younger players building their kit, and anyone who wants a light, simple backup to their main replica.
Please note: The listing does not state what is supplied with the pistol, so please ask us if you need to know before ordering. Always wear suitable eye protection when using any airsoft replica, and have it chronographed at your site before play.
