Description
ICS Sarsilmaz SAR 9 Gen.2 Gas Blowback Pistol (Black)
The ICS Sarsilmaz SAR 9 Gen.2 is a gas blowback replica of the SAR 9, a modern service pistol from Sarsilmaz, Turkey’s long-standing firearms maker. It is part of ICS’s BLE (Blowback Experience) range of gas pistols and is finished in black. If you want a contemporary polymer-framed sidearm that is a little different from the usual Glock-pattern pistols, this is well worth a look.
ICS is a Taiwanese manufacturer with a strong reputation for well-engineered AEGs and gas pistols. The BLE range is designed with modern features and practical touches for skirmishers, and the SAR 9 is a good example: a sleek, ergonomic pistol that is comfortable to hold and quick to bring on target.
Build and ergonomics
Retailers list the ICS SAR 9 with a nylon polymer frame and aluminium parts, which keeps weight sensible while giving the gun a rigid, quality feel. The grip is contoured to fill the hand and ICS supplies an interchangeable backstrap so you can tune it to your grip size. The magazine release button is also interchangeable, and a short Picatinny rail under the front of the frame accepts a pistol light or laser.
Performance and internals
The pistol fires in semi-automatic and the slide cycles with every shot for a lively, realistic recoil. The hop-up is adjustable, so you can set it for the BB weight you prefer. Retailers list the SAR 9 with a 6.03mm inner barrel and a 14mm counter-clockwise thread at the muzzle (via an adaptor), which opens up the option of a mock suppressor or tracer unit with the right fitting.
As with all gas pistols, the SAR 9 performs best in mild weather. In colder conditions keep your magazines warm in a pocket for more consistent shots.
On the field
A sidearm earns its keep when your primary runs dry or when you move into a building where a long rifle becomes awkward. The SAR 9’s compact size and comfortable grip make it quick to draw and point, and the blowback recoil gives clear feedback that a shot has gone. Many players carry a pistol like this in a drop-leg or belt holster with one or two spare magazines in pouches, which gives a useful reserve of shots for close-range fights. It is equally at home as a practice pistol for target shooting at home, where its realistic weight and controls help you build good drawing and reloading habits.

Compatibility
Use ICS SAR 9 gas magazines designed for this model. The front rail takes standard Picatinny-mount pistol lights and lasers; check the size of any holster against the pistol with a light fitted. If you plan to fit a mock suppressor or tracer, confirm the thread and adaptor before buying. Use airsoft gas and good quality seamless 6mm BBs.
Care and maintenance
Add a drop of silicone oil to the magazine fill valve and lip seal occasionally to keep seals supple, and avoid overfilling. Store magazines with a little gas in them and keep them away from heat. Clean the inner barrel periodically and wipe the pistol down after wet or dusty games. A light film of silicone oil on the slide rails keeps the action smooth.
Who is it for?
The SAR 9 Gen.2 suits players who want a modern, well-made gas sidearm with a real-world licence and comfortable ergonomics, and collectors looking for something less common than the usual service pistols.
Please note: Gas and BBs are not included. Always wear suitable eye and face protection when using airsoft pistols.
