The JG AUG RIS is an electric rifle (AEG) in the bullpup style of the AUG, fitted with a RIS rail for optics and accessories, model 0488A. This is the black version, and it is listed with a battery and charger included. A blue version of the same model is also listed in our range.
In a bullpup the magazine and mechanism sit behind the pistol grip, so the rifle keeps a long barrel in a much shorter overall package than a conventional rifle of the same barrel length. The AUG’s rounded, futuristic shape is instantly recognisable. JG (Jing Gong) is one of the longest-established airsoft manufacturers, known for dependable, affordable electric rifles that are easy to maintain and well supported with spare parts. How it works
An AEG (automatic electric gun) uses a rechargeable battery to drive a motor, which turns the gears inside a gearbox to pull back and release a spring-loaded piston. Each cycle pushes a burst of air behind a BB. Because the power comes from the battery and spring rather than gas, performance stays consistent in cold weather, and running costs are low once you have the rifle, battery and charger.
Bullpup handling
Because the bulk of the rifle sits back against your shoulder, a bullpup feels balanced close to the body and is easy to hold up in the aim for long periods. The short overall length makes it handy through doorways and woodland, yet the barrel length is closer to that of a full rifle. The trade-off is that magazine changes take a little practice, as the magazine sits behind the grip; time spent rehearsing reloads pays off quickly.

Compatibility
The AUG takes AUG-pattern AEG magazines, which are specific to the platform and not shared with M4 or AK rifles; please check compatibility before buying spares. The rail accepts optics and accessories made for its rail type, so check the space available before ordering. If you upgrade the battery later, make sure it fits the battery space and has the right connector.
Care and maintenance
Disconnect and remove the battery after every game, and never store the rifle with the battery plugged in. Charge batteries with a suitable charger, never leave them charging unattended, and store them at a sensible storage charge somewhere cool and dry.
Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs, as poor or damaged BBs are the main cause of jams and hop-up wear. Clean the inner barrel regularly with a cleaning rod and a soft cloth, wipe the outside down after wet or muddy games, and keep the rifle somewhere dry between games.
