King Arms M79 Sawed-Off Grenade Launcher (KA-CART-04-S)
The King Arms M79 Sawed-Off is a shortened version of the classic M79 ‘Thumper’ grenade launcher, with a cut-down barrel and a cut-down real wood stock for a compact, easily carried launcher. It fires standard 40mm airsoft gas grenades, giving you a powerful area-effect weapon for clearing positions and ambushing groups of players.
King Arms is a Taiwanese maker with a long reputation for well-made replicas. Its M79 combines a CNC aluminium barrel with real wood, so it looks and feels the part, and it works with a wide range of 40mm shells from different makers.
Build and materials
The sawed-off version weighs around 1.08kg, so it can be carried as a secondary on a sling or in a holster-style carrier alongside your main rifle. The barrel is CNC aluminium and the woodwork is real wood, giving the launcher an authentic look and feel.
The sawn-off format is a classic look, and it makes the launcher much easier to carry and bring into action in tight spaces.
How it works
The M79 uses a break-open action. Open the launcher, insert a filled 40mm shell, close it, and fire. The break-open latch and safety sit where they are on the real M79. A rotatable winter trigger guard swings out of the way so you can use the trigger with thick gloves.
Each 40mm shell is filled with airsoft gas and loaded with BBs; when fired, it releases a shower of BBs, making it very effective against groups or players behind cover. Some shells are designed for other payloads, such as tag or smoke rounds, where site rules allow.
Using it on the field
Grenade launchers reward good positioning: wait for players to bunch together or hold a position, then hit them from the side. Carry several pre-filled shells so you can reload quickly, and practise the break-open reload until it is second nature.

Compatibility
Fires standard 40mm airsoft grenade shells (sometimes called moscarts), including BB shower shells from various makers. Tag and smoke rounds can also be used where your site permits. Shells must be filled only with gas made for airsoft replicas; never use lighter fluid or butane.
Care and maintenance
Use only gas made for airsoft replicas in your shells, and never lighter fluid or butane. Do not overfill shells, and put a drop of silicone oil on the shell fill valves and seals now and then to keep them gas-tight.
Store shells with a small amount of gas in them so the seals stay seated, and keep them at room temperature. Wipe the launcher down after use, keep the barrel clear of debris, and check that the mounting and locking parts are tight before each game.
Store it in a dry place, and keep it in a padded bag when travelling so the sights and moving parts are protected.
