Description

King Arms MDT TAC21 Tactical Rifle (Limited Edition – Tan – KA-AG-175-DE)

The King Arms MDT TAC21 Tactical Rifle is a gas-powered, bolt-action airsoft sniper rifle built around a licensed replica of the MDT TAC21 chassis, here in the Limited Edition tan finish (KA-AG-175-DE). It pairs a modern precision-rifle chassis with M700-pattern internals, giving you the look and handling of a contemporary tactical bolt gun.

King Arms is known for carefully licensed replicas, and the TAC21 carries licences from both MDT, for the chassis, and CAA, for the stock and cheek piece. It suits players who want a serious-looking, adjustable sniper platform with a long barrel and plenty of rail space for optics.

Chassis and build

A UK retailer listing for the King Arms MDT TAC21 gas bolt-action rifle (Version II) describes a CNC aluminium chassis and outer barrel, an aluminium receiver, buffer tube and bolt, steel parts for the muzzle brake, magazine release and castle nut, and a high-density polymer pistol grip and stock. It gives a 24-inch outer barrel with a 14mm counter-clockwise thread, a 600mm inner barrel and a weight of around 3.7kg.

The same listing describes a licensed CAA collapsible stock with QD sling sockets and an adjustable cheek piece on a six-position AR-style buffer tube, an A2-style pistol grip, an ambidextrous magazine release and removable ghost ring aperture sights. This Limited Edition may differ in detail from the Version II listing, so please check the product images or ask us if a particular feature matters to you.

How it works

The rifle is a gas bolt-action design: green gas is held in the magazine, and each shot is fired after you work the bolt to chamber a BB. Retailers describe Tanaka M700-based internals with a PCS adjustable power bolt, which lets the output be tuned, and note that there is no spring resistance when cocking, so bolt work is light and quick.

The hop-up is a TDC-type adjustable unit with an external dial on the top rail, so you can make fine adjustments without stripping anything down. Gas rifles perform best in mild weather; in the cold, expect fewer shots per fill and keep the magazine warm between shots.

What’s in the box

  • King Arms MDT TAC21 rifle
  • Gas magazine (listed with the rifle by a UK retailer)

Compatibility

A UK retailer lists the TAC21 magazine as compatible with King Arms M700 and MDT LSS rifles, so spare magazines for those King Arms models should suit; please check with us before ordering. Use green gas as recommended, and 0.25g or heavier seamless BBs as a starting point once the hop-up is set.

The top rail takes standard 20mm optic mounts, the handguard accepts Picatinny rail sections, and the 14mm CCW thread suits standard muzzle devices. Because the internals are M700-pattern gas parts, check that any upgrades are listed for King Arms or Tanaka-type gas M700 rifles rather than spring VSR-10 types.

Care and maintenance

Fill the magazine with the gas recommended in the manual, in short steady bursts and without overfilling. A drop of silicone oil on the fill valve and seals every few fills keeps them supple, and magazines are best stored with a little gas in them so the seals stay seated. Gas pressure falls in cold weather, so keep the magazine warm in a pocket between shots on chilly days.

Retailers note that these rifles need lubrication, so keep the bolt and moving parts lightly lubricated with a suitable silicone product. Clean the inner barrel now and then with a rod and a lightly dampened patch, use high-quality seamless BBs and store the rifle unloaded, with the magazine removed, in a padded case so the barrel and any optic stay aligned.

Who is it for?

The TAC21 is for experienced players who want a modern, adjustable precision-rifle look with gas bolt-action internals, and for collectors of licensed MDT and CAA designs. The tan finish suits desert, coyote and multicam loadouts.

Please note: Gas, BBs and optics are not listed as included. Retailers describe this rifle as supplied part-disassembled with some assembly required, so please read the manual carefully. Always wear suitable eye protection, and full-face protection where your site requires it, when using or testing any airsoft replica.
