Description
KJW – KJW-1911-88 – Fill Valve – KJW-M9-68 – Magazine feed lips – KJW-M9-71 – Exhaust Valve
This listing covers three KJ Works magazine parts: the 1911-88 fill valve, the M9-68 magazine feed lips and the M9-71 exhaust valve. Between them, they cover the three parts of a gas magazine that most often cause trouble: filling, feeding and releasing gas.
Please check the product images to confirm exactly which parts and quantities are supplied. The part codes show which KJW magazine each part is listed for, so check them against your own magazines before ordering.
What each part does
The fill valve is where gas enters the magazine. A leaking fill valve lets gas escape when you fill, or empties a magazine overnight. The exhaust (outlet) valve releases a measured burst of gas each time the hammer strikes it; when it sticks or leaks, shots become weak or the magazine dumps gas.
The feed lips sit at the very top of a gas pistol magazine. They hold the next BB in place under spring pressure until the slide or loading nozzle pushes it forward into the hop-up. Because they take a knock every time a magazine is dropped or slammed home, they are one of the most common wear parts on any gas pistol.
Fitting
Always empty the magazine of all gas before removing any valve. Valves are unscrewed with a suitable valve key, and you should check that the new valve’s seal is seated correctly and only tighten it firmly, not with excessive force.
Fit the new part in the same orientation as the old one, then check that the follower moves freely and that BBs sit correctly in the lips before you gas the magazine. Test the magazine with a small fill first and look and listen for leaks.
Key features

Compatibility
The part codes indicate the KJW magazines each part is listed for: the fill valve is a 1911 part, and the feed lips and exhaust valve are M9 parts. Check your magazines and the product photos before ordering. A valve key is needed for the valves and is not mentioned in this listing.
Care and maintenance
Put a drop of silicone oil on the fill valve every few fills to keep its seal supple, and store magazines with a little gas in them. Never use petroleum-based lubricants on gas seals.
Do not overfill magazines, and keep them out of direct heat. Avoid dropping loaded magazines, as the feed lips take the impact.
Who is it for?
For KJ Works pistol owners and techs who want spares for the parts that most often cause gas magazine problems.
Please note: Magazine, pistol, valve key, gas and BBs are not included. Wear eye protection when testing gas magazines.
