Can I buy this? This is a realistic replica (RIF). UK law needs a valid defence to buy one, usually UKARA registration, which you get by playing three games over two months at one site. No UKARA? See two-tone versions: you just need to be 18 or over. Questions? Ask us.

Description

KJWorks 1911 / M45 Compensator CO2 Blowback Pistol (Tan – KP-16)

The KJWorks KP-16 is a competition-style 1911 / M45 airsoft pistol fitted with a muzzle compensator and powered by CO2. KJWorks (KJW) is a Taiwanese manufacturer with a strong reputation for reliable gas pistols, and the KP-16 takes the classic 1911 platform and gives it a modern, tactical look with a tan finish, an accessory rail and a race-style compensator.

CO2 is a popular power source for players who want a strong, crisp blowback and dependable performance across a wider range of temperatures than green gas. Combined with the metal slide and frame, that makes the KP-16 a solid, hard-working sidearm for skirmishing as well as an enjoyable pistol for target shooting.

Build and materials

The slide, outer barrel and frame are alloy, along with the grip panels, trigger and hammer, giving the pistol a reassuring weight of just under a kilogram with the magazine fitted. The frame includes an accessory rail beneath the barrel for a pistol light or laser. The compensator adds length and a distinctive competition profile to the muzzle. The tan finish suits desert and modern tactical loadouts and makes the KP-16 easy to spot if dropped in the leaves.

Performance and operation

The KP-16 is a semi-automatic gas blowback pistol, so the slide cycles sharply with every shot. It is powered by CO2 held in its magazine, which has a capacity of 26 rounds, a generous amount for a 1911-pattern pistol. The hop-up is adjustable, allowing you to tune the BB’s flight for the weight you are using. Fire modes are safe and semi-automatic.

Handling

The 1911 grip angle points naturally, and the KP-16’s weight and length help keep the sights steady between shots. The rail lets you set the pistol up for night games or indoor CQB with a weapon light. At around 255mm long, it is a full-size pistol, so choose a holster with clearance for the compensator and any light you fit.

Key features

  • Competition-style 1911 / M45 with muzzle compensator
  • CO2-powered gas blowback action
  • Alloy slide, outer barrel and frame
  • Alloy grip panels, trigger and hammer
  • Accessory rail for a light or laser
  • 26-round magazine
  • Adjustable hop-up
  • Finished in tan

Compatibility

Use KJWorks KP-16 CO2 magazines; spare magazines are worth carrying for longer games. The magazines take CO2 capsules of the type sold for airsoft and airgun magazines. The accessory rail accepts compact pistol lights and lasers made for standard rails. Holsters must allow for the compensator’s extra length.

Care and maintenance

Put a drop of silicone oil on the tip of each CO2 capsule before fitting it and keep the magazine seals lightly lubricated. Remove capsules after the day’s play rather than leaving them under pressure for weeks. Keep the slide rails lightly oiled with silicone oil and wipe the pistol down after use. Clean the barrel occasionally with a rod and dry patch, and always use good quality seamless BBs.

Who is it for?

The KP-16 suits players who want a robust, weighty CO2 sidearm with a modern competition look, and 1911 fans who want something more distinctive than a standard Government model.

Please note: CO2 capsules and BBs are not included. Always wear suitable eye protection and check your site’s rules on CO2 replicas before play.
