Description

KWA TT33 Gas Blowback Pistol (Full Metal – Black – 101-00733)

The KWA TT33 is a full metal gas blowback replica of the Tokarev TT-33, the Soviet service pistol that served through the Second World War and long afterwards. This black model, code 101-00733, has a metal slide and frame and subdued markings, including a CCCP star, for an authentic Eastern Bloc look.

KWA is a Taiwanese manufacturer with a long-standing reputation for well-made gas blowback pistols and rifles, and its pistols are widely used by players who want something sturdy that will keep working season after season. It is built with a full metal slide and frame.

A piece of history

The TT-33 was designed in the early 1930s and became the standard Soviet sidearm, later produced in several other countries. It is slim, flat and simple, with very few controls, and its distinctive grips with their central star make it instantly recognisable.

That makes the KWA TT33 a natural choice for Second World War, Cold War and Russian-themed impressions, and an interesting pistol for collectors of military designs.

Build and handling

Both the slide and frame are metal, giving the pistol real weight and a solid feel. The slim single-stack grip suits smaller hands, and the simple layout makes it quick to learn. The magazine is listed as holding 11 rounds, so it is best treated as a backup or a pistol for scenario games where realism matters more than capacity.

The iron sights are traditional and small, as on the original design, and take a little practice to use quickly.

KWA quality

KWA lists the TT33 alongside its NS2 pistols, and it shares the brand’s focus on sturdy construction and a strong blowback. It strips down for cleaning in a similar way to the original, so basic maintenance is easy.

Getting started

Charge the magazine with gas in short, steady bursts and let it rest briefly before shooting. Test-fire at a safe target and set the hop-up from zero, adding a little at a time until the BB’s flight is straight and level.

Practise reloads at home so they feel natural, and have the replica chronographed at the site before your first game.

Compatibility

Use KWA TT33 magazines. Magazines from other makers’ TT-33 replicas, including spring and other gas models, are not interchangeable. Holsters made for the TT-33 pattern suit its slim, flat shape best.

Use only gas made for airsoft guns, and follow the gas recommendation in KWA’s manual; KWA’s guidance warns against some higher-pressure gases and propane, which can damage the seals and parts. Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs; KWA recommends 0.20g or heavier.

Care and maintenance

Keep a little gas in the magazines when you store them and lubricate the seals with silicone oil from time to time. Fill in short bursts until gas just starts to spit back, and keep magazines at room temperature for the best performance.

After use, check the moving parts for dirt and wipe them with a light coat of silicone oil. Clean the inner barrel occasionally, use clean seamless BBs, and keep the replica dry.

Who is it for?

Ideal for reenactors, milsim players running Soviet or Eastern Bloc loadouts, and collectors who want a well-made, full metal replica of a classic military pistol.

Please note: Gas and BBs are not included. Always wear suitable eye and face protection, and check your site’s rules and power limits before play.
