Description
Laylax Prometheus EG Barrel for AK47S (6.03mm – 455mm)
The Laylax Prometheus EG Barrel for AK47S is a 455mm stainless steel inner barrel with a 6.03mm tight bore. It is sized for AK47S-pattern AEGs and replaces the factory barrel with a precision part from the Prometheus range.
Laylax has supplied upgrade parts to airsoft players for many years, and the EG barrel remains a popular way to improve consistency. For AK47S owners it is a simple upgrade that keeps the classic look while improving what happens inside.
Build and materials
Stainless steel construction keeps the barrel straight and protects it from corrosion. The 6.03mm bore is a slightly tighter fit around a 6mm BB than many stock barrels, and the 455mm length is set out for the AK47S family.
Fitting and set-up
On most AK AEGs the inner barrel and hop-up unit come out from the front once the handguard and outer barrel are removed. Transfer or replace the hop-up rubber, slide the new barrel into the hop-up unit and line up the slot with the nub before reassembling.
After fitting, adjust the hop-up for the weight of BB you use and test the replica on a chronograph. A tight bore barrel can give a small increase in muzzle velocity, which may need a spring change to stay within your site’s limits.

Compatibility
Suits AK47S-pattern AEGs that take a 455mm inner barrel, including the Tokyo Marui AK47S and compatible replicas. The AK74MN uses a slightly longer 460mm barrel, so check which you need before ordering. A standard AEG hop-up rubber is required and is not included.
Care and maintenance
Pass a dry, lint-free patch through the bore before fitting and repeat when accuracy drops or after playing in dusty or wet conditions. Keep oil and grease out of the barrel and off the hop-up rubber.
Use seamless BBs of a consistent weight and store the replica with the magazine out. When the gun is apart, keep the barrel somewhere it cannot be bent or scratched.
Who is it for?
For AK47S owners who want better accuracy and consistency, and for players restoring an older AK. It is a good first upgrade before moving on to hop-up or gearbox work.
Please note: Hop-up rubber not included. Always check muzzle velocity after fitting any internal upgrade.
