This is the 460mm Prometheus EG Barrel from Laylax, a stainless steel 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel cut for AK74MN-pattern AEGs. It replaces the factory inner barrel with a precision part from one of Japan’s best known upgrade brands.
AK replicas are popular for their simple, rugged design, and many players keep them for years. Fitting a quality barrel is an easy way to sharpen up an older AK or to build a new one into a more accurate rifle.
Build and materials
The barrel is made from stainless steel, which holds its shape well and resists corrosion. The bore is finished to 6.03mm, a common tight bore size, and the 460mm length matches the full-length AK74MN family of replicas.
Getting the best from it
A tight bore barrel reduces air leaking around the BB, which helps consistency from shot to shot. For the best results fit a good hop-up rubber at the same time, as a worn or poorly seated bucking will undo much of the benefit of a precision barrel.
Once fitted, set the hop-up for the BB weight you plan to use; a level, flat flight path is the aim. A tighter bore can change muzzle velocity, so chronograph the rifle before your next game.

Compatibility
Designed for AK74MN-pattern AEGs that use a 460mm inner barrel, such as the Tokyo Marui AK74MN and replicas built to the same layout. AK variants differ in barrel length, so measure your current barrel first. The barrel works with a standard AEG hop-up rubber, which is sold separately.
Care and maintenance
Clean the bore before fitting with a rod and a dry, lint-free patch, and repeat whenever grouping starts to open up or after a dusty, wet or muddy game. Keep lubricants out of the barrel and away from the hop-up rubber, as oil attracts grit and upsets BB spin.
Store the replica with the magazine removed and keep the muzzle capped or covered when in a bag, so dirt cannot get into the bore. Seamless, polished BBs of a consistent weight will get the best from a precision barrel.
