Description
Laylax Prometheus EG Barrel for G&G CM16 SRL (6.03mm – 260mm)
This LayLax Prometheus EG barrel is listed for the G&G CM16 SRL, a longer version of the CM16 than the SRS, and it measures 260mm with a 6.03mm tight bore. It replaces the factory inner barrel directly, keeping the rifle’s appearance and length unchanged while improving the part that has the most contact with the BB.
LayLax sells its upgrade internals under the Prometheus name, with EG barrels offered in lengths to suit a long list of replicas.
Construction
Like the rest of the EG range, this barrel is stainless steel, with a bore tolerance listed at plus or minus 0.01mm. Stainless steel is stiff and resists corrosion, so this is a long-term part.
Its 6.03mm bore is tighter than many stock barrels. With less room around the BB, less air is wasted and the BB has a more even path to the muzzle, which helps groups stay tight once the hop is set correctly.
Fitting
Installation means taking out the hop-up unit and factory barrel, transferring or replacing the hop-up rubber, and fitting the EG barrel with its window lined up. Put everything back together, adjust the hop a little at a time and check the power on a chronograph before a game day.
On the field
The CM16 SRL’s mid-length barrel makes it an all-round rifle for woodland and mixed sites. With an EG barrel and a well-fitted bucking, it can hold its groups better at the longer end of its range, which is where small inconsistencies in a factory barrel tend to show.

Compatibility
This barrel is listed for the G&G CM16 SRL. Barrel lengths and hop-up units differ between makers and even between versions of the same model, so please measure your existing inner barrel or check your replica’s specification, or contact us, before ordering. A retailer lists the 120mm G&G version as suiting outer barrels with an 8.6mm to 9.2mm inner diameter.
The hop-up rubber is not listed as included, so plan to reuse your current bucking or fit a new one at the same time.
Care and maintenance
Keep the bore clean with a rod and patch after every few outings, finishing dry. Clean, seamless BBs of one consistent weight protect both the barrel and the bucking. If a BB ever lodges in the barrel, clear it gently with a cleaning rod rather than firing more BBs behind it.
Who is it for?
It is for CM16 SRL owners who want a dependable, long-lasting barrel upgrade for an all-round rifle.
Please note: The hop-up rubber is not listed as included. Have your replica chronographed after fitting a new barrel.
