Description
Laylax Prometheus EG Barrel for Krytac PDW (6.03mm – 155mm)
This 155mm LayLax Prometheus EG inner barrel is listed for the Krytac PDW and has a 6.03mm tight bore. Krytac’s PDW-length rifles are popular for close-quarters play, and this barrel gives one a precise stainless steel bore in place of the factory part, without changing the gun’s compact size.
Prometheus is LayLax’s internal upgrade range, and EG barrels come in many lengths so each replica can take one matched to it.
Build and bore
EG barrels are made from stainless steel, and the series is listed with a bore tolerance of plus or minus 0.01mm. Stainless steel resists corrosion and bending, so the bore keeps its shape and finish for longer than a soft brass or aluminium barrel.
The 6.03mm tight bore leaves a slightly smaller gap around a 6mm BB than a typical factory barrel. Less air slips past the BB, which helps efficiency and makes shots more alike from one to the next, provided the hop-up rubber is in good condition.
Fitting
Fitting is a normal inner barrel swap. Open the replica to reach the hop-up unit, remove the old barrel, and move the bucking across or fit a new one, keeping the lip even and the window lined up with the hop-up nub. Reassemble, then set the hop gradually with the BB weight you use and check the replica on a chronograph, as a new barrel can change its power.
Short barrel, careful setup
With a barrel this short, the BB is only guided for a brief moment, so the bore’s finish and the hop-up do most of the work. Fitting the EG barrel along with a fresh hop-up rubber and taking time over the hop setting is the best way to help a compact Krytac shoot consistently, particularly in CQB, where quick shots through gaps and doorways need to land where you aim.

Compatibility
This barrel is listed for the Krytac PDW. Barrel lengths and hop-up units differ between makers and even between versions of the same model, so please measure your existing inner barrel or check your replica’s specification, or contact us, before ordering.
The hop-up rubber is not listed as included, so plan to reuse your current bucking or fit a new one at the same time.
Care and maintenance
Clean the bore every few games with a cleaning rod and a dry or very lightly oiled patch, and finish with a dry patch. Use good quality seamless BBs of a consistent weight, because dirty or damaged BBs are the main cause of jams in tight bore barrels, and keep oil off the hop-up rubber.
Who is it for?
It suits Krytac PDW owners building a reliable CQB setup and players replacing a worn or damaged barrel.
Please note: The hop-up rubber is not listed as included. Have your replica chronographed after fitting a new barrel.
