Laylax Prometheus EG Barrel for Krytac SPR (6.03mm – 416mm)
This Laylax Prometheus EG barrel is a 6.03mm tight bore precision inner barrel, 416mm long, made to suit the Krytac SPR. It is a straightforward upgrade from a standard inner barrel, designed to give more consistent shots and improved accuracy.
Prometheus is Laylax’s precision barrel and hop-up range, made in Japan. This 416mm barrel belongs to the KRYTAC x Prometheus line, cut to the length Krytac uses for the SPR so it drops in as a direct replacement. Like the rest of the EG series it follows Tokyo Marui barrel specification, and Laylax gives the Krytac versions an expanded hop window to suit a range of hop nubs and tensioners.
Stainless steel precision
The EG barrel is made from stainless steel rather than the brass or aluminium used for many stock barrels. Stainless steel is hard and resistant to accidental bending, so the bore stays straight even if the front end of your replica takes a knock, and it keeps its accuracy without relying on a coating. The 6.03mm tight bore gives the BB a close, consistent fit as it travels down the barrel. Laylax quotes a bore tolerance of plus or minus 0.01mm.
Built for the marksman role
The SPR is Krytac’s Trident-based marksman rifle, set up for the designated marksman role where consistency matters most. A stainless steel precision barrel complements a well-tuned hop-up, helping each BB follow the same path so you can place shots more reliably at range. It pairs well with a quality hop rubber and good, heavier BBs.
Fitting
Fitting means stripping the replica, moving the hop rubber onto the new barrel and reassembling. When you fit your hop rubber, check that it seats correctly in the hop window and that the nub lines up, as some hop rubbers and nubs fit differently from barrel to barrel. If you are unsure, ask a technician to fit it for you.

Before buying, measure your current inner barrel or check your replica’s manual, as length is critical: a barrel that is too long can protrude beyond the outer barrel or flash hider, and one that is too short may leave the BB unsupported in the outer barrel. Check that your hop-up unit and rubber are compatible with a standard Tokyo Marui-type barrel.
Laylax lists barrel O-ring spacers for added stability inside outer barrels with an internal diameter of 8.6mm to 9.2mm.
Care and maintenance
Before fitting, run a cleaning rod with a soft patch and a drop of silicone oil through the bore, then dry it so no oil reaches the hop rubber. After that, clean the barrel every so often, or whenever accuracy drops off, by pushing a dry or very lightly oiled patch through from the hop-up end. Always use good quality, seamless 6mm BBs, and never fire dirty or damaged BBs, which can scratch the bore or jam in the hop-up.
