Description
Laylax Prometheus EG Barrel for M14 Exclusive (6.03mm – 500mm)
This Laylax Prometheus EG Barrel is a 500mm, 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel built specifically for M14-pattern AEGs. Prometheus is the precision parts brand of Laylax, a long-established Japanese company, and the EG barrel is one of its best known upgrades.
The M14 is a long rifle that is often used in a designated marksman role, so a smooth, accurate inner barrel makes a real difference. Swapping the stock barrel for an EG barrel is a sensible way to get more from the platform at range.
Build and materials
Like the rest of the EG range, the barrel is made from stainless steel and finished with a 6.03mm bore. The 500mm length is set out for the M14, which uses a longer inner barrel than most AEGs, so it is marked as an M14-exclusive part rather than a general fit barrel.
Performance
The slightly narrower bore of a 6.03mm barrel reduces the air gap around the BB, which can improve consistency and efficiency compared with a looser stock barrel. Over a long barrel this helps the BB settle and leave the muzzle on a steady line.
Good results depend on the whole system working together, so check the hop-up rubber and the air seal at the same time. After fitting, set the hop-up to suit the BB weight you use and test the replica on a chronograph, as a tighter bore can change muzzle velocity.

Compatibility
Intended for M14 AEGs that use a 500mm inner barrel, such as the Tokyo Marui M14 family and replicas built to the same pattern. Different makers’ M14s can vary, so measure your current inner barrel and check the hop-up unit before ordering. The hop-up rubber is not supplied.
Care and maintenance
Clean the bore before fitting with a rod and a dry, lint-free patch, and repeat whenever grouping starts to open up or after a dusty, wet or muddy game. Keep lubricants out of the barrel and away from the hop-up rubber, as oil attracts grit and upsets BB spin.
Store the replica with the magazine removed and keep the muzzle capped or covered when in a bag, so dirt cannot get into the bore. Seamless, polished BBs of a consistent weight will get the best from a precision barrel.
Who is it for?
Ideal for M14 owners who use their rifle as a longer range or marksman platform and want a quality barrel at the heart of their build. It also suits players restoring an older M14 whose original barrel is worn or damaged.
Please note: Hop-up rubber not included. If you are not confident stripping an M14, have the barrel fitted by a technician. Always check muzzle velocity after fitting.
