Description
Laylax Stainless Steel Inner Barrel for AEG Type W (6.03mm – 280mm)
The 280mm Type W is the shortest of LayLax’s wide-window stainless steel AEG barrels, with a 6.03mm bore. It suits shorter AEG builds, where a compact outer barrel and handguard call for a shorter inner barrel.
Retailer listings describe LayLax’s EG W barrel as a 6.03mm stainless steel AEG barrel with a wide-expanded hop-up window, offered in 280mm, 300mm and 363mm lengths. The wider window lets a greater variety of hop-up nubs and tensioners fit, which suits R-hop and other extended hop set-ups as well as standard ones.
Hop-up freedom
Short barrels rely more heavily on the hop-up to set the BB’s flight, which makes the choice of nub and bucking especially important. The Type W’s wider window lets you fit a broader range of nubs, tensioners and R-hop patches than a standard window allows.
Stainless steel construction keeps the barrel rigid and resistant to bending, and the 6.03mm tight bore helps the air seal for consistent shots.
Fitting
Remove the hop-up unit and original barrel, then fit your chosen bucking and nub so that the window and nub line up and the lip of the rubber sits evenly. With a wide window, take extra care that a tensioner or R-hop patch is seated centrally. Reassemble, then add hop gradually from zero.

Please check that the length and hop-up unit suit your replica before ordering, or contact us.
Care and maintenance
Clean the bore every few games with a cleaning rod and a dry or very lightly oiled patch, and finish dry. Use good quality seamless BBs of a consistent weight, as dirty or damaged BBs are the main cause of jams in tight bore barrels, and keep oil off the hop-up rubber.
If you are not confident working on your replica, have the part fitted by an experienced technician.
Who is it for?
It is for players and techs building a shorter AEG who want a stiff, precise barrel with the flexibility to run their preferred hop-up set-up.
Please note: Only the inner barrel is supplied. The bucking, nub and tools are not included.
