Description
Lock Alpha Plus Covered Chain and Padlock – 900mm
The Lock Alpha Plus Covered Chain and Padlock is a 900mm security chain supplied complete with a padlock. It is a practical, versatile way to secure bikes, gates, sheds, trailers and outdoor equipment, including fishing and camping gear stored in a garage, shed or van.
The chain is fitted with a protective cover, which helps prevent scratches to the paintwork of bikes and other items it is wrapped around, and keeps noise down when the chain is moved or carried. Having the chain and lock together in one pack means everything you need is in the box.
Using it
Loop the chain around the item you want to secure and a fixed point such as a railing, post, ring or the frame of another item, then lock the ends together with the padlock. At 900mm, the chain is long enough to reach around most posts and railings and through a bike frame and wheel, while still being compact enough to carry in a bag or pannier.
Around the home and outdoors
As well as bikes, a covered chain is useful for securing gates, garden equipment, ladders, wheelie bins, trailers and tackle barrows. Anglers often use one to secure a barrow or kit in a garage or shed between trips. The cover helps protect whatever the chain is wrapped around.
