Description
Mantis S61 Foam Filled Suppressor – Black, Short
The Mantis S61 is a foam-filled mock suppressor for airsoft replicas, shown here in black in the short length. It fits onto the threaded muzzle of your replica to give it a suppressed profile, while the foam packed inside helps soften some of the sharp crack that many replicas make as the BB and air leave the barrel.
A mock suppressor is one of the simplest and most affordable ways to change the look of a rifle, SMG or pistol. The black version is the understated choice that blends in with almost any build, while the coloured versions are there if you want to stand out. The S61 is offered in short and long lengths and in black, red and purple, so you can choose the size and finish that suit your replica.
How it works
On an airsoft replica, much of the noise you hear at the muzzle comes from the burst of air that follows the BB out of the barrel. The foam inside the S61 gives that air somewhere to go and slows it down, which can take the edge off the report. It is worth being realistic about what a mock suppressor can do: it will not quieten the sound of a gearbox, motor or piston, and the overall difference depends heavily on the replica it is fitted to. For many players the main reason to fit one is the look, with any reduction in muzzle noise a welcome bonus.
Choosing a length
The short version keeps your replica compact, making it a good match for SMGs, short carbines and pistols with a threaded barrel, or for CQB players who want the suppressed look without the extra length. It adds very little weight at the muzzle, so handling stays quick.
Key features

Compatibility
Mock suppressors attach to a threaded outer barrel or a muzzle adaptor. Airsoft replicas most commonly use a 14mm thread, cut either clockwise (CW) or anticlockwise (CCW), and the two are not interchangeable. Please check the thread on your replica, and whether it needs an adaptor, before ordering; if you are unsure, contact us with your replica’s make and model and we will be happy to help. Once fitted, check that the suppressor sits straight and that the bore is clear, so BBs pass through without touching the inside.
Care and maintenance
Check the suppressor is screwed on firmly before each game, as vibration can loosen it, but do not overtighten it against the thread. Wipe the outside clean after use, especially after wet or muddy days, and keep the foam as dry as possible. Over time the foam can become compressed or dirty; if a BB ever appears to strike the inside, stop using it and check the alignment and the bore before playing again.
Who is it for?
The black Mantis S61 short suits players who want to give their replica a suppressed profile with a clean, classic finish that goes with any setup.
Please note: replica not included. Check your replica’s muzzle thread before ordering.
