Description
Maple Leaf VSR Upgrade Spring M135
The Maple Leaf M135 is an upgrade spring for VSR-10 pattern bolt-action sniper rifles. It fits Tokyo Marui and JG VSR-10/BAR10 rifles and is one of the most common parts players reach for when they start tuning a VSR. Maple Leaf are known for their consistent manufacturing, which matters in a spring: an evenly wound spring gives more consistent power shot to shot.
The M rating on an airsoft spring is a general guide to its strength, with a higher number meaning a stronger spring. The M135 sits in the middle of the commonly used range, giving a useful step up from many stock springs while remaining a popular choice for skirmish use.
Why upgrade the spring?
A spring upgrade lets you set the rifle’s power to match the limits of the sites you play at. Combined with a good hop-up and inner barrel, the right spring helps your rifle make the most of heavier BBs, which hold their line better in wind and at range. Fitting a fresh spring is also worthwhile if your existing one has weakened through use or been stored cocked.
Before you fit it
A stronger spring puts more stress on the cylinder, piston, sear and trigger parts. Many stock VSR internals are not designed for heavier springs, so check that your rifle’s internals are up to the job, or upgrade them at the same time. Fitting usually involves removing the cylinder from the stock and disassembling it, so if you are not confident, have a tech do it.
Key features
- M135 upgrade spring
- For VSR-10 pattern bolt-action rifles
- Fits Tokyo Marui and JG VSR-10/BAR10
- Consistent manufacture for consistent power
- Popular step for tuning a VSR
- Made by Maple Leaf
Compatibility
Designed for Tokyo Marui and JG VSR-10/BAR10 sniper rifles and other VSR-pattern rifles that use the same cylinder layout. Check your rifle’s model before ordering, and make sure your spring guide, piston and sear are suitable for the spring you choose.
Care and maintenance
Do not store the rifle cocked, as this weakens the spring over time. Keep the cylinder lightly lubricated with a suitable grease as recommended for your rifle, and check the spring guide and piston for wear whenever the cylinder is apart. After fitting any new spring, chrono your rifle with the BB weight you will use to confirm it is within your site’s limits.
Who is it for?
VSR-10 owners tuning their rifle’s power, and techs carrying out spring upgrades and rebuilds.
Please note: Always chrono your rifle after a spring change and check it is within the limits of the site you play at.
