Description
PPS 40mm Grenade Launcher (235mm / 9 inch, Black)
This PPS 40mm grenade launcher is the 9 inch (235mm) version in black. 40mm launchers fire reusable gas shells loaded with BBs, so one pull of the trigger sends a burst of BBs downrange rather than a single shot. PPS makes a range of airsoft replicas and accessories, including shotguns and launcher equipment.
The longer 235mm length gives a more substantial launcher for players who want a bigger, more traditional under-barrel look. A launcher like this adds a new tactical option to your loadout: you can clear a room, push opponents out from behind cover, or support a team mate’s advance with a single burst.
How it works
A 40mm airsoft launcher has no gas system of its own. The power comes from the shell: you load the shell with BBs, fill it with gas, slide it into the launcher and fire. The launcher’s firing mechanism strikes the valve on the shell, releasing all of the stored gas at once and pushing the BBs out together.
After firing, the empty shell is taken out, reloaded and refilled. Many players carry several pre-filled shells so they can fire, swap and fire again quickly.
Handling and set-up
This listing gives the launcher length and colour. How the launcher attaches to a rifle, or whether it is designed as a standalone launcher, is not stated in our listing, so check the product images and your rifle’s rails or mounting points before ordering.
At 235mm the launcher has a more substantial size, which some players prefer for its look and balance on a longer rifle.
Building a launcher kit
To get the most from a launcher, plan the rest of your kit around it. Most players carry three or four shells in dedicated 40mm pouches on a belt or chest rig, a bottle of gas in their bag, and a speed loader or a small bag of BBs for refilling between games. Pre-filling your shells in the safe zone means you can fire, reload and fire again without fiddling with gas in the middle of a fight.
Shells come in a range of capacities and styles, from shower-type shells that spread BBs widely to shells with fewer, more focused barrels. Trying a couple of different types will show you which suits the way you play and the ranges you usually engage at.
Using it on site
Launcher rules vary between sites, including minimum engagement distances and which shells are allowed, so speak to your site before your first game. Practise loading and firing at a safe range so you can do it smoothly under pressure.

Care and maintenance
After each game, wipe the launcher down and check the barrel and breech area for dirt or BBs left behind. Make sure the launcher is empty before you put it away.
Store shells with a small amount of gas so their seals stay seated, and put a drop of silicone oil on shell valves every so often. Keep the launcher somewhere dry and avoid leaving it in a hot car.
