Description

Rare Arms M4 Shell Ejecting Gas Blowback Rifle (CNC – Semi/Fully Auto)

The Rare Arms M4 Shell Ejecting Gas Blowback Rifle is one of the most realistic M4-pattern replicas available. Each BB is loaded into its own shell casing, and as the rifle fires, the bolt carrier cycles and throws the spent casing out of the ejection port, just like the real thing. For anyone who values realism and the mechanical feel of a rifle, there is very little in airsoft that comes close.

Rare Arms is a specialist maker focused on shell-ejecting systems, and this CNC version combines that technology with precisely machined parts. This listing is the semi/fully auto version. It is aimed at enthusiasts, collectors and players who want an experience beyond a standard AEG or gas rifle, and who enjoy the ritual of loading shells and watching the spent casings fly.

How the shell-ejecting system works

Instead of feeding loose BBs from a magazine, a shell-ejecting rifle loads a BB into each individual shell casing, and the casings go into the magazine just as real cartridges would. When the rifle fires, gas propels the BB from the shell and drives the bolt carrier back, which extracts and ejects the empty casing and chambers the next loaded shell. The result is a rifle that behaves very much like a real M4, with genuine ejection and a reciprocating bolt carrier.

The trade-off for that realism is preparation and recovery. Shells need loading before each game, and spent casings land on the ground, so many owners use a brass catcher or play in areas where casings can be collected afterwards. Running out of loaded shells mid-game is also more of a consideration than with a high-capacity AEG magazine, so plan your loadout accordingly.

Build and fire modes

The CNC in the name refers to computer-controlled machining of the rifle’s parts, which gives tight tolerances and a high-quality finish. A UK retailer listing for a CNC version of Rare Arms’ M4 shell-ejecting rifle describes a fully reciprocating bolt carrier, a functional bolt catch, an adjustable hop-up, an M-LOK handguard with a 20mm top rail and a 14mm threaded outer barrel; we have not confirmed which barrel length this listing is, so please ask us if those details matter.

This version is named as semi and fully automatic, so you can choose between single, deliberate shots and automatic fire. Semi-auto is the best way to make loaded shells last through a game, while full auto is there for the moments that call for it; check your site’s rules on automatic fire before play.

Gas and performance

This rifle is listed by us as gas blowback; UK retailer listings for Rare Arms’ M4 shell-ejecting rifles describe them as CO2-powered. Please confirm the gas or power source with us before buying gas, magazines or accessories. As with all gas-operated replicas, performance is affected by temperature, so keep magazines at a sensible temperature and check your site’s rules on gas types before play.

Key features

  • Shell-ejecting M4-pattern rifle from Rare Arms

  • Spent casings ejected from the port on each shot
  • Reciprocating bolt carrier (per a UK retailer listing for a CNC version)

  • Semi / Full auto (as named)
  • Adjustable hop-up (as listed by a UK retailer)
  • Exceptional realism for enthusiasts and collectors

Compatibility

Shells and magazines are specific to the Rare Arms shell-ejecting system; standard M4 AEG or gas rifle magazines and loose-BB magazines will not work. We list spare Rare Arms M4 shell casings separately; please check with us which shells and magazines suit this rifle before ordering.

External accessories that fit M4-pattern rifles, such as optics on the top rail, M-LOK accessories and slings, will generally fit. Confirm the muzzle thread before buying a muzzle device. Use high-quality seamless 6mm BBs, as a poorly seated or damaged BB in a shell will cause misfeeds.

Care and maintenance

Keep shells clean and inspect them regularly; replace any that are cracked, deformed or no longer hold a BB firmly, as damaged shells cause feeding problems. Collect spent shells after games where you can, and wash and dry any that land in mud before reloading them.

Use only the gas or power source the manufacturer specifies, and put a drop of silicone oil on magazine or valve seals now and then to keep them supple. After a game, wipe the rifle down, lightly lubricate the bolt carrier and rails as the manual describes, and run a cleaning rod through the inner barrel. Store the rifle unloaded, with no gas or shells left in the magazines, somewhere cool and dry.

Who is it for?

This rifle is for enthusiasts who want the most realistic M4 experience in airsoft, collectors of unusual systems, and players who enjoy the hands-on process of loading shells and running a rifle that cycles and ejects like the real thing.

Please note: Gas and BBs are not listed as included; box contents for this listing are not confirmed. Always wear suitable eye protection, and full-face protection where your site requires it, when using or testing any airsoft replica.
