Salvo Precision MCX Rattler 300 GBBR (Tan)
The Salvo Precision MCX Rattler 300 is a gas blowback rifle styled on the MCX Rattler, a very compact personal defence weapon chambered in .300 Blackout on the real gun. With a short 5.5 inch handguard and a folding stock, it is one of the smallest rifle-pattern GBBRs you can buy, and the tan finish suits modern special forces and earth-tone loadouts.
Salvo Precision builds high-end gas blowback rifles around the proven Tokyo Marui MWS (ZET system) platform, combining that reliable core with precise CNC-machined aluminium bodies and steel-reinforced internals. The result is a rifle that looks and handles like the real thing, feels solid in the hand and works with a wide range of existing MWS-spec parts and magazines. Despite its size, it still delivers the full gas blowback experience, with the bolt cycling on every shot and locking back on an empty magazine. It is an ideal CQB primary, a fun backup on outdoor sites and a standout piece for any MCX collection.
Build and materials
The receiver and major external parts are CNC-machined aluminium, finished in tan, giving a rigid, rattle-free rifle with sharp, crisp detailing. Inside, the components most prone to wear, including the parts of the trigger group, are steel-reinforced to cope with the extra stress of gas blowback shooting. The low-profile 5.5 inch Gen 2 M-LOK handguard has a forward QD point and room for a compact light or handstop. The upper has a monolithic Picatinny rail running along the top, so optics and accessories stay solidly aligned. The muzzle carries a tapered three-prong QD flash hider on a 14mm counter-clockwise thread, which can be removed to fit a different muzzle device or a tracer unit.
At the rear is Salvo’s Minimalist folding stock, which uses a Picatinny stock interface, has a rubberised buttpad, an adjustable-height hinge and folds to either side for storage or transport. Ambidextrous QD sling points on the receiver and stock make it easy to set the rifle up for either shoulder.
Performance and internals
The rifle uses a short-stroke gas piston and SCX bolt system based on the Tokyo Marui MWS. Every shot cycles the bolt, giving you the kick, sound and rhythm of a real rifle, and the bolt locks back on an empty magazine so you know when to reload. This second-generation design adds a reciprocating spring buffer pad and a revised barrel clamp to improve consistency and durability. The hop-up base is integrated with the outer barrel to minimise wobble, and the hop dial has tactile clicks so you can make small, repeatable adjustments to suit your BB weight.
Because the core is MWS-based, most components are interchangeable with Tokyo Marui MWS-spec aftermarket parts, which makes servicing and upgrading straightforward.
Handling and ergonomics
The PDW-style pistol grip and short length make the Rattler extremely quick to handle in buildings and vehicles, and with the stock folded it is small enough to fit in a backpack or compact bag. Controls are partially ambidextrous, with ambidextrous fire selector, charging handle and magazine release, and the flared magwell helps guide magazines in quickly during a reload. The rifle offers safe, semi and full-auto fire.

Compatibility
The rifle accepts Salvo Precision, Double Eagle and Tokyo Marui MWS-type AR15/M4 gas blowback magazines. Most internal parts are interchangeable with Tokyo Marui MWS-spec aftermarket components. The M-LOK handguard and Picatinny top rail accept standard M-LOK and Picatinny accessories, and the 14mm CCW thread takes standard airsoft muzzle devices and tracer units. Use only gas made for airsoft, such as green gas or top gas; lighter fluid or butane will cause permanent damage.
Care and maintenance
Lubricate the bolt carrier rails and moving parts with silicone oil as described in the manual, and put a drop of silicone oil on magazine seals and the fill valve regularly. Do not overfill magazines, and store them with a small amount of gas in to keep the seals supple. Gas performance falls in cold weather, so keep magazines warm in a pouch or pocket on cold days and allow time between long strings of fire. Clean the inner barrel with a cleaning rod and cloth if accuracy drops, and use good quality seamless BBs. Store the rifle in its hard case, out of direct sunlight and away from heat.
