SRC M4 Selector Plate
This is a replacement selector plate for SRC’s M4. SRC is a Taiwanese manufacturer with a long history of making AEGs, and it supplies individual spare parts so that owners and technicians can repair a gun without replacing the whole gearbox.
On an M4-style AEG the selector plate sits on the side of the gearbox and links the external fire selector to the trigger mechanism inside, so that safe, semi and full-auto positions work as they should. It moves every time you change fire mode, and its teeth or tabs can wear or break over time.
Signs it needs replacing
Symptoms of a worn or broken selector plate include a selector that will not engage safe, a gun that fires on full-auto when set to semi (or the other way round), a selector that feels loose or sloppy, or a trigger that will not work in one of the positions. Inspect the plate for broken tabs, worn teeth or cracks.
Fitting
Fitting this part means opening the gearbox. Remove the battery, take the gearbox out of the gun, and release the spring tension safely before splitting the shell. Note the position of every part, especially the trigger, selector and anti-reversal parts, and take photos as you go. Lightly grease moving parts where appropriate, reassemble, and test the selector in every position by hand before refitting the gearbox. If you are not confident, have the part fitted by an airsoft technician.

Care and maintenance
Store the battery out of the gun, keep the gearbox and electrical contacts dry, and use good-quality seamless 6mm BBs to protect the hop-up and barrel. If you are not confident working inside a gearbox, have the part fitted by an airsoft technician; a gearbox that is reassembled with a part out of place can be damaged as soon as power is applied.
Avoid flicking the selector while the gun is firing, which places extra strain on the selector parts.
