Description
SRC MP40 AEG Luxury Edition (Steel – Bakelight – GE-0640TM IIIL)
The SRC MP40 Luxury Edition is an electric replica of the iconic Second World War German MP40 sub-machine gun, with a steel construction and Bakelite-style furniture as listed (GE-0640TM IIIL). It is designed for players and collectors who want an MP40 that looks and feels like the real thing, and it is a natural choice for WWII reenactment and milsim games.
SRC is a Taiwanese manufacturer with a long history of historical replicas, and its MP40 family is well established among reenactors. The Luxury Edition focuses on materials and finish, and its steel construction gives the weight and solidity that make a WWII replica convincing.
Build and design
The receiver is steel, with Bakelite-style furniture that recreates the look of the period. The MP40’s underfolding metal stock folds beneath the gun for carrying and unfolds for a steadier hold when firing.
There are no modern rails or accessories, keeping the profile period-correct. Fit a sling to the traditional sling points and the MP40 is comfortable to carry through a long reenactment day.
Performance
As an AEG, the MP40 runs from a rechargeable battery, so it works in all weather without the need for gas. SRC’s MP40 family uses electric blowback, giving visible bolt movement as you fire for an extra touch of realism. The hop-up can be adjusted to suit your BBs.
Battery space in an MP40 is limited, so check the space and connector before choosing a battery, and ask us if you are unsure which pack will fit.
Getting started
Fully charge a suitable battery before first use, then fit it as described in the manual and connect it carefully. Load a magazine, wind it if it is a high-capacity type, and start with the hop-up turned off. Fire a few shots at a safe target and add hop a little at a time until the BBs fly flat without rising at the end of their flight.
Have the rifle chronographed at your site before you play, and keep a note of the hop setting that suits your favourite BB weight so you can return to it quickly.
