Description
SRC MP41 AEG Luxury Edition (Steel and Wood – GE-0641TM IIIL)
The SRC MP41 Luxury Edition is an electric replica of the MP41, the Second World War German sub-machine gun that paired the mechanism of the MP40 with a traditional wooden rifle-style stock. This version combines steel and real wood, and adds electric blowback for a more authentic feel.
SRC is well known for its WWII replicas, and its MP41 brings a little-seen historic design to airsoft. It is an excellent choice for WWII reenactors and themed events, for collectors, and for anyone who wants a skirmish gun with a real sense of history.
Build and materials
A US retailer describes SRC’s MP41 as a 1:1 replica with a full metal body, a steel-stamped receiver, a metal barrel and charging handle, and a real wood stock and furniture. It is listed at around 850mm long and about 3.1kg, giving it the solid, balanced weight you would expect from a wood-stocked wartime design.
The wooden stock gives a traditional cheek weld and shoulder hold, which many players find steadier than the folding metal stock of an MP40.
Performance and internals
SRC uses its own full metal, reinforced gearbox shell with 8mm bearings, steel gears and an aluminium cylinder, cylinder head and piston. The tight-bore inner barrel is listed at 230mm and 6.05mm, and the full metal hop-up is adjustable.
The MP41 offers semi and full-auto fire with a working safety, and electric blowback cycles with each shot. It feeds from a 280-round high-capacity, wind-up magazine. The listed battery is an 8.4V mini type stored in the receiver.
Getting started
Fully charge a suitable battery before first use, then fit it as described in the manual and connect it carefully. Load a magazine, wind it if it is a high-capacity type, and start with the hop-up turned off. Fire a few shots at a safe target and add hop a little at a time until the BBs fly flat without rising at the end of their flight.
Have the rifle chronographed at your site before you play, and keep a note of the hop setting that suits your favourite BB weight so you can return to it quickly.
