Description
S&T M4 CQB Gas Blowback Rifle (Full Metal – RIS CQB – STGBB06BKM)
The S&T M4 CQB (STGBB06BKM) is a full metal gas blowback airsoft rifle in a short, railed CQB configuration. It takes the familiar M4 layout and pairs it with a gas system that drives the bolt back and forth on every shot, so you feel genuine recoil and hear the sharp clack of the action as you play.
S&T is a well-known name for affordable replicas, and a gas blowback M4 is one of the most popular ways for players to move on from an electric rifle to something more immersive. The CQB length keeps the rifle short and light enough to move quickly through buildings, doorways and tight woodland, while the RIS handguard gives you room to set it up the way you like.
Build and design
Being full metal, the rifle has a reassuring weight and rigidity. The short barrel and RIS (rail interface system) handguard give it the compact, purposeful look of a close-quarters carbine, and the quad rails accept a torch, laser, vertical or angled grip, or a sling mount wherever suits your hold.
The top rail is ready for a red dot or holographic sight, the type of optic that best suits the quick, short-range shooting a CQB rifle is built for. Keeping the accessories light helps the rifle stay well balanced and quick to bring up.
How gas blowback works
Each magazine holds both the BBs and the gas. When you pull the trigger, gas fires the BB and also pushes the bolt carrier back, which recocks the action and gives the felt recoil that makes gas rifles so popular. On most gas blowback rifles the bolt locks back when the magazine runs empty, prompting a reload just as on the real thing.
Because the magazines carry their own gas, a gas rifle tends to feel livelier on a warm day and a little softer in the cold. Many players keep spare magazines in a warm pocket during winter games, and carry fewer, well-filled magazines rather than lots of half-empty ones.
Handling and use
The short overall length makes the M4 CQB comfortable to shoulder from cover and fast to switch between targets. M4 controls are some of the most familiar in airsoft, so the selector, magazine release and charging handle will feel natural if you have used an AR-style rifle before.
Take time to set the hop-up with the BB weight you plan to use, and practise reloads and magazine changes at home so they become second nature on the field.
Key features
- Gas blowback action with felt recoil
- Full metal construction
- Compact M4 CQB length
- RIS quad-rail handguard for accessories
- Top rail for a red dot or holographic sight
- Familiar M4 controls

Compatibility
The rifle uses gas blowback magazines made for its system; gas blowback and electric M4 magazines are not interchangeable, so make sure any spare magazines are listed for this rifle or its exact system. The RIS handguard accepts standard 20mm rail accessories.
Care and maintenance
Put a drop of silicone oil on the magazine’s fill valve and seals every few fills, and store magazines with a little gas in them so the seals stay tight. Do not overfill, and let magazines warm up to room temperature in cold weather rather than heating them.
Wipe the moving parts and the outer barrel with a thin film of silicone oil now and then, clean the inner barrel with a rod and patch, and use good quality seamless BBs. Never use petroleum-based oils on the seals.
Who is it for?
Players who want an immersive, recoiling M4 for close-quarter and woodland games, and anyone ready to step up from an electric rifle to gas.
Please note: Gas and BBs are sold separately. Gas rifles are affected by temperature, so performance will drop on cold days. Always wear eye protection when using airsoft replicas.
