Description
S&T TS21 Sar Flat Top AEG (Non-Blowback – Long – Black – ST-AEG-34-BK)
The S&T TS21 SAR Flat Top is a black electric bullpup rifle styled on the TAR-21 family, the compact Israeli bullpup that has become one of the most recognisable modern rifle designs. SAR refers to the standard assault rifle configuration, this is the version listed as Long, and the Flat Top upper gives a long, continuous rail for mounting optics (ST-AEG-34-BK).
This is the non-blowback version, so it concentrates on simple, dependable operation rather than simulated recoil. S&T is a Taiwanese manufacturer known for an unusually wide range of rifle designs at accessible prices, and its T21 series is a popular way into the bullpup format.
The bullpup layout
In a bullpup, the magazine and action sit behind the pistol grip rather than in front of it. That puts a long barrel inside a much shorter overall rifle, so you get the reach of a full-size rifle in a package that handles more like a carbine. The weight sits back towards your shoulder, which makes the rifle feel balanced and easy to hold on aim for long periods.
Magazine changes happen near your shoulder rather than in front of the grip, so practise reloads before your first game until the movement is automatic. Once learned, the compact layout is a real advantage when moving through buildings, woodland and vehicles.
Flat Top rail and set-up
The Flat Top upper replaces a fixed sight with a long top rail, which gives you complete freedom over sighting: a red dot for fast close-range work, a magnifier behind it for longer shots, or a low-power scope. Because the bullpup layout puts your eye well back along the receiver, take a moment to set your optic’s position so the eye relief feels natural.
Before your first game, charge a suitable battery, load a magazine with good seamless BBs and set the hop-up, starting with it off and adding a little at a time until BBs fly flat. A two-point sling suits a bullpup well. Have the rifle chronographed at your site before play.

Compatibility
A European retailer lists S&T’s T21 rifles as taking M4/M16-standard AEG magazines (figures quoted for the S&T T21 Carbine Flat Top), which makes spares easy to find; fit varies slightly between brands, so test a spare first. The same listing places the battery in the handguard; check the space and connector before buying a battery, or ask us for a recommendation.
Optics and accessories that fit standard 20mm rails will mount on the rail sections. 0.20g to 0.25g seamless BBs are a sensible starting point.
Care and maintenance
Take the battery out after every game and store it separately at a sensible storage charge, rather than leaving it connected inside the replica. Charge LiPo batteries with a proper balance charger, keep them in a LiPo-safe bag and never leave them charging unattended; NiMH packs should be charged with a smart charger that stops when the pack is full.
Run a cleaning rod with a lightly dampened patch through the inner barrel from time to time to clear dirt and residue, which keeps the hop-up consistent. Use good-quality seamless BBs, never reuse BBs that have been on the ground, and wipe the outside over after damp or muddy games. Leave gearbox work, shimming and spring changes to a competent technician.
Who is it for?
The TS21 SAR Flat Top suits players who want the reach of a full-size rifle in a compact bullpup, from woodland skirmishers to CQB players, and anyone after a well-known modern design in a straightforward non-blowback AEG. We also list the standard version.
Please note: A battery, charger and BBs are not listed as included. Always wear suitable eye protection, and full-face protection where your site requires it, when using or testing any airsoft replica.
