How 12g CO2 works
A 12g capsule is a small sealed steel cylinder of liquid CO2. When you fit it into your replica and tighten the piercing screw or lever, a pin pierces the capsule’s seal and the gas is released into the replica’s valve. Each shot uses a little of that gas until the capsule is empty, at which point you simply replace it.
The number of shots you get from each capsule depends on the replica, whether it has blowback and the temperature. CO2 is more powerful and less affected by cold than green gas, which is why it is popular for outdoor games in the colder months.

Care and maintenance
Put a drop of silicone oil on the tip of each new capsule before fitting it, which helps protect the replica’s puncture seal. Always fire off or release any remaining gas before removing a capsule, and never leave a capsule fitted in a replica for long periods. Store unused capsules in a cool, dry place away from heat and direct sunlight, and never puncture, heat or throw them into a fire, even when empty.
Dispose of empty capsules responsibly; many recycling centres accept small steel gas cylinders once they are completely empty.
