Description

Swiss Arms Navy AEP Pistol – MOSFET, Semi/Full Auto, Metal Slide (280969)

The Swiss Arms Navy AEP is an electric airsoft pistol distributed by Cybergun under the Swiss Arms licence, styled on a full-size, double-stack service pistol used by naval and police units. Unlike a gas pistol, it runs from a small rechargeable battery, so it fires the same way on a frosty January morning as it does in midsummer. This version has a metal slide and a MOSFET for crisp trigger response, and it offers both semi and fully automatic fire.

Automatic electric pistols (AEPs) are a popular choice for players who want a sidearm that simply works. There is no gas to buy, no magazines to fill and no seals to worry about when the weather turns cold. With a quick flick to full auto you can put a burst through a doorway or window in close quarters, which makes the Navy AEP a handy secondary for CQB players and a fun, low-running-cost pistol for target practice at home.

Build and materials

The slide is metal, giving the pistol a reassuring weight at the top and a solid feel in the hand, while the frame is polymer, which keeps overall weight down and stands up to being dropped into holsters and dump pouches all day. The grip is textured for a secure hold with or without gloves, and there is a 20mm accessory rail under the dust cover for a compact pistol torch or laser. Open iron sights are fitted for quick, simple aiming.

Performance and internals

Inside is a compact electric mechanism driven by a 7.4V LiPo battery. The MOSFET handles the current to the motor, which gives a sharper trigger response and protects the trigger contacts from burning and wear, so the pistol keeps feeling responsive over time. A 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel helps with consistency, and the hop-up is adjustable using a gear-type adjuster that you reach by removing the slide. Set the hop to suit the BB weight you are using; a 0.25g BB is a good starting point.

Because an AEP does not rely on gas pressure, shot-to-shot consistency stays steady in cold weather, and you will not see the drop-off in power that green gas pistols can suffer when temperatures fall.

Handling

The fire selector lets you choose between safe, semi and full auto, and there is also a trigger safety. In semi you get a controlled, single shot for accurate work; in full auto the pistol empties the magazine quickly, so it is best used in short bursts. The Navy’s full-size grip and familiar layout make it easy to pick up and shoot well, even if it is your first pistol.

Key features

  • Licensed Swiss Arms Navy styling, distributed by Cybergun
  • Electric operation – no gas required, consistent all year round
  • MOSFET for sharp trigger response and contact protection
  • Safe, semi-automatic and fully automatic fire
  • Metal slide with polymer frame
  • Adjustable hop-up
  • 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel
  • 20mm accessory rail for a torch or laser
  • Textured grip and open iron sights
  • Low running costs – just BBs and a charged battery

Compatibility

The Navy AEP uses its own AEP-style magazines, so spare magazines must be specific to this model rather than gas pistol or rifle magazines. It runs on a 7.4V LiPo with a mini-Deans connector; make sure any spare battery or charger matches that voltage and connector. The 20mm rail accepts most compact pistol torches and lasers designed for standard accessory rails. When choosing a holster, look for one that fits this model or a universal holster sized for full-size pistols.

Care and maintenance

Always remove the magazine and disconnect the battery before cleaning or storing the pistol. Charge LiPo batteries with a suitable balance charger, never leave them unattended while charging, and store them part-charged and away from heat, ideally in a LiPo-safe bag. Do not leave the battery connected in the pistol between games.

Clean the inner barrel with a cleaning rod and a soft cloth if accuracy starts to drift, and use good quality seamless 6mm BBs to avoid jams. Keep the pistol dry, and wipe off dirt and moisture after a muddy or wet game.

Who is it for?

The Swiss Arms Navy AEP suits players who want a reliable, low-maintenance sidearm that keeps working in cold weather, CQB players who like the option of full auto, and anyone looking for an affordable pistol for target practice or as a first secondary.

Please note: A battery is not included. Use good quality 6mm BBs. Always wear suitable eye and face protection and check the power limits and pistol rules at your site before play.
