The Reaper is a launchable sound projectile: it is fired from a TAGinn launching device, flies out to the target area and then goes off with a loud report after its delay, bringing the noise and pressure of indirect fire into airsoft games and training scenarios.
TAGinn is a specialist maker of airsoft and paintball pyrotechnics and the launchers that fire them, and the Reaper is one of its best-known rounds. The projectile body is made from a lightweight polyurethane foam and it spins in flight, which helps keep it stable on the way to the target. The longer delay of this version gives the round more time in the air before it goes off, which suits longer shots and lobbing a round onto a position from further back.
How it works
The Reaper is loaded into a compatible TAGinn launcher and fired. Its delay begins at launch, so the round travels downrange and then goes off a set time later. With a longer delay you can send the round further, or arc it high to drop it behind cover, into a trench line or onto an objective that your rifle cannot reach.
Because the round spins as it flies, it holds a steadier path than an unstabilised projectile, which makes it easier to learn where it will land. Like all indirect fire, it rewards practice: spend some time on a safe range getting used to how launch angle and distance relate before relying on it in a game.
Using it in a game
Sound projectiles are excellent for flushing a dug-in team out of a building, covering a team-mate’s advance or simulating incoming fire in a scenario. Different sites have different rules for launched pyrotechnics. Some count a round as a hit on anyone within a set radius, while others use them purely for effect, so check your site’s rules and brief your team before you play.
Always launch at a safe angle, well away from other players, and watch where your round lands. Never fire a projectile directly at anyone, and never use one at close range.

Compatibility
The Reaper is designed for TAGinn launching devices, including the TAG-ML36 launcher, and TAGinn launching shells used in compatible 40mm launchers. It is not intended for other makes of launcher or for 40mm BB shells, so check that your launcher or shell is a TAGinn system before ordering. If you are unsure which TAGinn device you have, contact us before buying.
Care and maintenance
Keep the rounds in their original packaging in a cool, dry and secure place, away from heat, flames and direct sunlight and out of the reach of children. Carry them to the site in a closed box or a padded pouch rather than loose in a pocket, so they are not crushed or knocked about on the way.
Never use a projectile that is damaged, damp or deformed, and never try to take one apart or alter it. If a round fails to go off, leave it where it is for several minutes, then tell a marshal rather than picking it up. Keep your launcher clean and dry so rounds load and launch consistently, and dispose of used and failed items as the manufacturer and your site direct.
