Description
TAG Innovations AFG-4 Hand Grenade – 2.0 Second Delay (Pack of 6, AFG4X6)
The TAGinn AFG-4 is a pyrotechnic hand grenade for airsoft and training, supplied here in a pack of 6 (AFG4X6). It gives a flash-bang style effect and, according to TAGinn, is filled with dried peas, adding noise and realism when clearing rooms and buildings. This version has a 2.0 second delay after the lever is released.
TAG Innovations (TAGinn) is a well-known maker of airsoft and military training pyrotechnics, and the AFG-4 is one of its most widely used grenades. It is particularly popular for CQB, where a short delay and a sharp effect suit fast-moving engagements.
How it works
The AFG-4 uses a ring-pull and lever mechanism similar to a real grenade. Pulling the ring does not ignite it; it only ignites once the safety lever is released, giving you control over when the 2.0 second delay starts. The short delay means there is little time for opponents to react or throw it back, which makes it well suited to room clearing.
Build
The grenade body is made from foamed polyurethane and cardboard, with a polyurethane safety lever, so there are no hard metal parts. Users report that its effect is best suited to indoor and close-quarters play rather than large outdoor areas.
