The TAG-ML36, named after its designer Madritsch, is the launching system from Tag Innovations (TAGinn) for firing its range of launchable training projectiles. It lets a player put smoke, impact and timed rounds onto a target area far beyond throwing distance, turning one member of a team into a genuine grenadier. This listing is supplied in black with a carry case.
TAGinn is best known for its pyrotechnics, and the ML36 was built to make the most of them. It is used by airsoft and paintball players and has also been reviewed for professional training use. How it works
The ML36 is a pneumatic launcher. A TAGinn round sits in a dedicated ML36 casing, which is loaded into the launcher; pulling the trigger releases a charge of gas behind the round to send it downrange through the rifled barrel. In the CO2 form, a reviewer reported that a 12g CO2 cartridge gives about eight to ten shots. A large release button on the left side of the frame opens it for loading, and there is a manual safety.
Rounds you can fire
The ML36 is designed around TAGinn’s launchable projectiles, including the Reaper, the Fate (which detonates on impact or after a delay if it misses) and the Velum MK2 smoke round. TAGinn also recommends ML36 shells for the most consistent activation of the Velum MK2. Using smoke to screen a move, then following up with a round on an occupied position, gives a team options that rifles alone cannot.
Handling and mounting
The launcher can be used with its stock as a standalone weapon, and it can be detached from the stock and mounted on a 20mm rail under a host replica, much like an underbarrel launcher. The sights are set up in the manner of service grenade launchers, so you aim for an arcing trajectory rather than flat fire. Practise judging distance before using it in a game, as indirect fire takes a little getting used to.

Compatibility

Care and maintenance
After each game, clean the barrel and casings of residue, check the seals and keep the moving parts lightly lubricated as TAGinn recommends. Store the launcher in its case with no gas connected or cartridge fitted, and keep pyrotechnic rounds stored separately in a cool, dry place.
