Description
Tag Innovations TAG-19-Y Hand Grenade (Pack of 6 – TAG-19-Y)
The TAG-19-Y is a pyrotechnic airsoft hand grenade from Tag Innovations (TAGinn), shaped after the Soviet-era RGD-5 and supplied in a pack of 6. Pull the pin, throw, and once the safety lever has been released it goes off after around 3.5 seconds, spreading BBs over a wide area to clear rooms, corners and trenches.
Its body and lever are made from polyurethane, and the BB fill is held inside in a compound that stops it rattling, so you can move with grenades on your vest without giving your position away. The RGD-5 shape makes it a natural partner for Eastern Bloc and Russian-themed loadouts, as well as a practical throwable for any milsim or woodland game.
In the game
Use it where you cannot see or shoot: through doorways, over walls or into dug-in positions. A good throw lands it just behind cover, where players cannot easily get away within the delay. Give the call your site uses for grenades and follow its rules on how hits are counted.
Handling safely
Leave the pin in until you are ready to throw, and keep hold of the lever until the grenade leaves your hand. If one does not go off, leave it alone for several minutes and report it to a marshal.
